It's never been user adjustable without aftermarket programmer. And since around 2016 it's not dealer adjustable anymore. The nhtsa locked the dealers out of their own software basically.
You can re-adjust thresholds with aftermarket stuff like Autel ?? Programmer.
But I've never seen the high end adjusted down. Only low end adjusted down. Every 2014-2016 Ram 250 I've been around, the low is 65 and no alarm for high.
I reprogrammed a bunch of them with Chrysler Witech software but don't remember if you could change the upper threshold.

I’m just as confused as when I started. However, buying a crossfire with a little less pressure does seem to make sense. I just don’t know if I should get 65, 70, 75, or 80psi.
I’m leaning towards 70psi cold.

I’m also concerned that Kaytag1 had a slow leak and the crossfire didn’t isolate the bad tire. If I recall on a slow leak it should isolate at 5psi drop and a quick drop at 10psi.
On the other hand this is the first I’m hearing of the crossfire failing.

In short, if you have 5000lbs in back air them up to 75-80psi. 4000 lbs 65 or so should do it, but erring on the high side loaded down will not hurt a thing.
I think the inside tire hotter thing is a sales pitch. Maybe briefly on a hot day on a big downhill, but the few psi won't make a difference. That's bunk.

There are really three questions here:

1) What tire pressure does the manufacturers recommend?
2) What tire pressure will yield the longest life?
3) What tire pressure yields the best handling (or the most desirable handling)?

The answers may not be the same. On the rear of a dually, there being twice the contact patch, manufacturers recommendations may be pretty low. And above that inflation there may be a small reduction in life. On the other hand in my opinion the truck handles better (or more to my liking) with higher than the recommended pressure. Pressure affects tire stiffness and the ratio of front to rear tire stiffness affects handling.

Tires on all of the duallies I've owned have lasting a long time, longer really than their logical shelf life (sidewalls begin to crack before tread is at the limit). Therefore I inflate them for best handling rather than longest life. That usually puts the fronts at about 75 and the rears around 70. 10 psi or more above recommendations.

^FWIW, if you change the direction of tire rotation (however, X, no X doesn't matter) you can always see which tires feather the tread which direction with respect to position, front, rear.
Rotate so that the new tire position is in a position to correct that feathering or essentially feather the tread the opposite direction, it will increase tire life and decrease road noise and vibration.

Hard to explain but easy to see. Pretty much all tires of run in the same position for a while will have slightly feathered tread. Somethimes Can only feel it and not see it if it's real minor.

the Ram dually has a monitor system, it will show you the tire PSI but will not set of alarms of the tire goes flat. I think under 10K gvwr requires the system that alerts you if a tire goes flat.

also know on the ram dually the inside rear tires Pressures transmitter use a different frequency. If you put a rear inside tire on the front, it will still show up on the inside rear position on the dash.

With steel wheels I used to X front to rear outers. (if you think about it, since the rim mounts different on front VS rear, the rotation the tire turns on road is still the same direction when you X them).

Now with a AF 990 loaded for a week, I will run 80psi front and somewhere around 65-70 rear. I know the sticker shows 65 max load in rear, but the 70 seemed to help with sway a little.

I had a 2015 4wd and now a 2018 2wd, same PSI.

I still think something is amiss there. But who knows what these mfgs doo. All the 2014s I had would throw the TPMS alarm at a LOW pressure of 65 and you had to get them back over 70 iirc to turn it off. Have never heard of high pressure alarm. What psi on the low end triggers it? Did she buy it new? Is it possible the threshold have been adjusted?

You "can" adjust it, but now only by aftermarket software like Autel ?sp or maybe others.
The OEMs removed the ability to readjust with OE software right around 2016.

As you can see from dispute, you might want to ride on different pressures depends on load, so you will not have easy answer.
But coming to choosing Crossfire, I used them in the past (and still have them in garage) and know you have to buy them with factory preset for the gauge.
So I'd suggest buying the set for lowest pressure you might use aka 65psi as when you buy higher set and lower pressure, the gauge will constantly show in red.
Still I would recommend using TPMS on top of Crossfire as even they have valve system, I lost a good tire with it when slow leak did not shut off flow from good tire and by the time I noticed it, both tires were beaten up.
With cost of tires - the cost of adding TPMS can pay itself in single incident.
