Check proper air pressure(don't forget spare pressure too) and hit the road if they look good.

I am "that" guy. I am the guy that puts quality tires on my trailers no matter the age or mileage. Our first trip with our new trailer is a couple weeks away still but for my piece of mind I am putting four new Goodyear Endurance tires on it before we leave. The price of new tires is a lot cheaper than the potential repairs from having the cheap factory OEM tires shred a tread and not worrying about them is priceless.

As usual, it depends. Are they truly 4 years old by the manufacture date? Or are they 4 years old by when the TT was originally purchased?

How many miles do they have? A tire can be 4 years old, and have 40k miles on it, or it can be 4 years old and have less than 10k miles. A corollary is how long have they sat without ever being moved?

Have they lived in high heat much of their lives? Have they been towed in high heat a lot?

Are they 65 mph limited tires, like almost all used to be, that have seen a lot of highway miles at 70 to 75 mph?

Are they constantly checked to make sure they have the proper amount of air?

How much weight are the tires carrying? Is the weight the tires rated to carry, just marginally enough for the weight of the trailer they are on?

If the answer to many of questions are questionable you may want to think about changing the tires out.

We went to Yellowstone and Colorado with 5 year old Carlisle RH tires and had no issues. I was contemplating it but decided to wait. I had no problems. I just replaced them this year with a set of Carlisle HD`s.

I think you`ll be ok and would do the trip if the tires are ok like you said.

Absolutely replace those tires! I to have a 2013Jayco that had Towmax tires... in my opinion Jayco was negligent in placing those tires on my trailer - they were borderline overloaded from the factory ( load range D). My first issue was a flat on the way home from the purchase. Luckily I stopped at a rest area and my walk-around revealed a slack tire. No big deal, any tire can pick up a nail... I had the correct tools, so I was on my way in 15 minutes.

1 year later... riding along at 60 mph (I never exceed 60) my first blowout. $2000 total damage to fender and sidewall, Insurance covered the damages minus $500 deductible. Original tire had been patched and was placed back in service.

360 days later another blowout... major damage to other side of trailer. Different tire! Put the spare on (Maxxis load range E) and on we went.

10 days later - 3rd tire blew! On the same side as thee previous one... insurance treated the damage as one incident $2200 damage covered except for $500 deductible.

This time I had no spare - limped home on a used P tire from a local gas station!

Three blow-outs in within 3 years of tire mfg. caused $4200 damage. I wrote a letter to tow max requesting reimbursement... got an offer for $25 discount for each tire toward purchase of new-haha!
Wrote to my insurance co - they decided to pursue Towmax and seek recovery of their costs... 18 months later... I got a check for $1000 refunding my deductible from my insurance co!

Sorry for the long post, but, this is my experience with Towmax - I purchased Maxxis Load range E’s to replace the originals. No problems yet.

Have them checked professionally. After having a tire separate that was 4 years old on the way to a camping trip (which cancelled the whole trip), we now have ours inspected professional at the start of every camping year. This year during that inspection, they found one of the tires beginning to separate so they replaced it free of charge. Now we feel confident for the remaining trips we have this year. In my opinion, better safe than sorry.
