We've had a rolling bed cover for years, and on this last trip the cover split. Second time, and this time I am not going to replace it. But I still need secure storage. Going with a cross-bed toolbox instead. But I've never owned one.Looking for interesting ideas on how to store typical truck stuff in your tool boxes, including bottle of fluids. Plus tools, cords, cables.If you have something special you've done, I would like to see it. Trays, dividers, whatever organizer method you've got.

8 ft truck bed, had a tool box across the rails behind the cab, and a 5er. One day, the 5er front corner scraped on the tool box while turning in a non-level situation. Yipes, could have cost a bunch bashing in the 5er's corner if it had been !/2" more.So I cut the tool box short in the middle and taped it all up waterproof so it was now all down in the truck bed at rail height. No more issues with the 5er.Meanwhile at least two folks I know with 6 ft truck beds poked out their back windows with their 5ers. The way it works is having the tool box across the rails behind the cab turns your 8 ft into a 6 ft as far as the 5er is concerned. Set it down off the rails and you are ok. The Honda 3000 also in the bed stuck up higher with its gas filler lid, but it was ok being in the middle when the 5er was tilted, but the tool box ends out on the rails were not ok.

My truck bed is kinda full with the camper, so I carry my toolbox on a front hitch. Fluids on the rear bumper. 20L can of Diesel, 5L can of gasoline, and an ammo box for oil, antifreeze, brake fluid, etc. :):)

Well I prefer a below the rails tool box with a 5er, no clearance issues!These pictures are with it in the old 2001 Ram 2500, tight to the bottom of the bed. I moved it ti the 2016 Ram 3500, the bed is deeper so was able to lift it 1.5" off the bed floor so can put 8' stuff in the bed.

I guess I wasn't clear in my question. I was hoping to see views of inside the boxes, of how you organize stuff. Thanks.

I got one of these Clicky. I bought it from Tractor Supply 15 years ago. It's now in the 3rd truck. Sits on floor of bed below the rails

If you want QUALITY look into HighwayProducts. EXPENSIVE but worth every $ for the long run. I will post a pic later.

I have a small milk crate to box fluids, all cords and 75’ of air hose all coiled and stacked then just carefully placed.
