Might work if you don't put anything into it, including standard options, and get a Hensley/PP (assuming you have the right Tahoe setup too).

The max trailer weight for an Explorer is 5000 lbs :S

I was expecting to see a picture of an Escort towing 5th wheel next.

I saw those at the Tampa show as well. I think there were some other dealerships with similar signs among the 5th wheels touting 1/2 ton towable. These were 5ers w/ "dry" weights in the 8-9k range.

spotted one like that at the WNY RV show this weekend. It was for the Ford Super Crew pick up and the trailer was a very nice size 5th wheel. Would have to leave the wife, kids, dogs and food home.

RV shows can cause a lot of problems with inexperienced buyers. Salesmen will say anything to make a sale. We've looked at General before, but something felt off when we were at the lot, so we walked away.

Is that first one really a Tahoe or Trail Blazer. We had an 04 Trail Blazer that looked exactly like that picture.
Based on their reasoning I should be able to hook-up a Semi-Trailer to my Dually and head on down the road.

I had a buddy that was buying a new TT out of state. The salesman told him he could tow it with a Tahoe as long as it had a 8 cylinder engine. I tried telling him that the size engine was only part of it, he needed to look at suspension and brakes issues before deciding on a TV. He bought a used Tahoe and blew up his factory optioned air suspension twice. Expensive lesson learned. Now his trailer just sits in a CG.

Out of principle, I would not want to buy from a firm that made misrepresentations. I hope others feel the same way. Thanks for sharing this info.

I saw those signs as well. My personal favorite was the one depicting a minivan as a TV for a decent size hard sided TT. Probably made them sell well.

That's funny.
9,589 lb loaded plus what someone would put in the tow vehicle. Maybe add 15 trans coolers to it too! Yeah, that's the ticket! Haaahhhaaa

Seems to be a very stupid thing to do, legally. What the salesman says verbally is hard to act against since they can claim puffery and that the buyer misunderstood what he said. But to put it in writing is another matter. Especially with such definite claims.
