Water inlet on Arctic Fox Camper

Need help! We have a 2004 Arctic Fox 1150 truck camper. During our last trip we stayed at facilities with full hook up. We use a pressure reducing fitting on the water hose that attaches to the campers water inlet fitting. During our trip water would drip from this inlet on the camper when we did not have a water hose attached to it. Also when we would turn on the water pump, again not connect to water in the parks, the water pump would on occasion run indicating that water was leaking somewhere. It was, from the water inlet outside the camper.

Question... does anyone know how the water lines are setup on an Arctic Fox? What would cause this inlet fitting to leak water that is being held in the holding tank?

Thanks in advance of any help or insight on this issue.
  • Thank you both for the information!!! And the quick reply. Will work on it today.
  • City water inlet has an internal check valve............cheapo plastic plunger, spring & o-ring
O-ring gets dislodged, plunger gets cocked, scale blocks it........leaks.

As suggested sometimes you can reseat it by pushing in on it.
    Usually they continue to leak.
Replace city water inlet assembly OR.......cap it off with a 3/4" PVC plug OR install a garden hose shut off valve

I have a 90* elbow with a shut off valve on my city water inlet......makes it easier to connect hose, takes the strain off when hose is attached and it has a shutoff valve that I can close when not using connection. I leave it attached and just cap it off with OEM cap that was on connection.

  • Inside the city water hose connection is a check valve that blocks the internal pressure from getting out
Just release all the pressure by turning off the pump and opening the faucets
Remove your pressure reducer and any strainer in the hose connection and you should see a plastic nipple that you push in and turn a little to clear
If that dosent work just remove it from the inside of the camper and replace
    Good Luck, Mike
