  • I've towed a 32ft. Mallard with the same set up. I only added a friction sway control to it about $80. I travelled the whole eastern seaboard from Quebec to Key West twice a year for 4 years and with many many trips in between. I never had a problem. He you watch your mirrors and prepare for the big busses etc... but it worked well for me.
  • Looks to me like a welded hitch head and shank... when these first came out they were custom fit to the TV and welded together.

In other words, its no longer easily adjustable.

Put the hitch into your trucks receiver...

    Level you trailer

back up to the trailer and compare... is the ball 1 inch ABOVE the coupler? If not, time for a new WD hitch.

    JMHO..

    Thanks!

  • Do you have the stirrups that go on the TT?

    This......

  • Looks like an old Reese. My dad has one that looks like that, that he bought in the 70's.
  • That's a fairly generic WD hitch. I have one just like it that's branded "Quality S". Etrailer has a number of videos on hitch setup. The principles are pretty much the same across the board. Here are 2 videos that come close to your type of hitch. One thing you'll want to do is read your truck's manual and look for the front fender spec when using a WD hitch. GM for example says to measure front fender height without trailer then when adjusting the hitch bring the front fender back to stock height. This puts weight back on the steering control and is one of the primary reasons for using WD. Some rear squat is normal. Mine is about 1.5 inches down in the back.
