That all depends on your tow vehicle however it will always tow better with one. If you have a 3/4 ton truck then you probably do not need one but if you have a minivan with a 3500 pound tow limit then it is definitely needed.

Well worth it in any case for the couple hundred bucks. My opinion

What 20' TT only weighs 2400 lbs? We used to have a 20 footer that weighed 5K lbs all loaded up. If that's a factory dry wt. figure, it's going to weigh a fair bit more when fully loaded for a camping trip. Use it's GVWR wt. and take 12-13 percent of that to estimate the tongue wt. Then determine the payload capacity of the tow vehicle to check that the tongue wt. is within it's payload capacity. Depending on what the TV is (small SUV to 1 ton pickup) you may or may not need a WDH. Even if you *might* get away without one, it could be a good idea so you can have sway control (integral or friction bars).

As long as you load it properly to keep the tongue weight up, you shouldn't need WD or sway control with that combo. If the trailer is loaded tail heavy to keep tongue weight down, sway control won't help. Air all tires to sidewall max while towing. Just my humble opinion.

NO WD and with enough tongue weight no sway either.

If it does not tow right, fix what is wrong. No WD hitch needed with that setup.

You could add a Friction Sway Bar...just have to remove when backing sharp turns, etc. We had one for our pop up. Helps when the big rigs pass you up.

If it was me, I would get the weight distribution bars.
