Who is towing with RamBox truck?

I hear you on the salesman ****. Only reason my buddy stayed with the PullRite is because at that point there were holes in the bed. He didn't want to swap the 5ver hitch and possibly have larger holes or additional holes. Luckily his uncle did all the welding work. The one reason I stayed away from a certain dealer in the Mi Capitol city.

Thanks, it sure does. If I had $500 for every time an RV saleman lied to me or left out something important that later cost me money, I'd be able to buy my next RV with the cash. These forums are more reliable, IMHO. There are exceptions, for sure. The guy who does my work now is sterling...reasonable prices, high standards and no bullshyte. He's a rare bird. Unfortunately, he sells nothing, just fixes. He didn't know the answer to this question.

My buddy has a MCSB with the Ram Box towing a 5ver. While he doesn't have the sidewinder setup, he has made a PullRite auto slider work. So I don't see any reason why the sidewinder system won't work. He had the pin box modified and reinforced to clear the bed rails, and had the 5ver ('11 or '12 Puma) lifted 6" to level the 5ver out.

No offence, but I was not looking for advice on whether to buy a RamBox.

I understand that the lids could not be up when turning a 5W. That said, it seems to me very unlikely the trailer itself will catch on the RamBox; if that were possible it would catch on the box sides regardless of RamBox because they appear to me to be exactly the same height.

I suspect that the hitch itself hits the RamBox because factory hitches slope down and forward and pivot in the center of the box. Which is why I mentioned that I already own an Airborne Sidewinder, which does not slope down and foward (not in the same way, at least) and which pivots well behind the 5W hitch.

Back to my inital request......If anybody actually knows whether a 5w is possible with RamBox and Airborne/Sidewinder, I would really like to hear from you.

As for the rest, I am pretty familiar with pickup storage options, having owned around 3 dozen pickups with and without toolboxes. Thanks.

I had the rambox on a half ton. With a backflip tonneau you could still open the lids. Really great for camping and towing. I put all my hitch inserts, light adapters, 2 gallon gas can and other stuff in one side, the other side we stuffed all the extra shoes in.

I have a GM now and I miss the rambox when we go camping

The truck pictured has a tonneau cover. It's rolled up. You might be able to find a cap for it like for the old step-side trucks. I think it would be pretty odd looking with a cap, though.
