From what I've read (and now seen), price doesn't matter.Re: Bed Bugs wny_pat wrote: That is the nice thing about RVs, you can remove the mattress and buy a new one. Oh, we use our RV for traveling, not camping. Its not that easy. From what I've read, its very difficult to get rid of them once you get them. Can cost thousands. The only sure fire way is heat treatment of 130 degrees for a number of hours. Since they outlawed DDT there is nothing that can effectively kill them.Re: Bed Bugs gbopp wrote: You checked the motel before renting a room. Check the RV for bed bugs before buying. Don't forget to tell us about the class A you buy. :) The scary thing is the young ones are not visible to the eye so not always possible to tell by looking. I've learned to look for their droppings on bare mattress (black clumps or looks like scattered black pepper) I was so upset at the hotel situation I didn't trust the clean hotel either. Took in set of clean clothes in a sealed plastic bag. Right before I left threw clothes on my back and shoes in the garbage, took a shower, and put on clean clothes in bathroom and hit the door.Bed BugsI've been on the fence on getting a class A. Last week went on a long trip to Texas. Upon arrival, got a hotel and checked for bedbugs. For the first time, check of mattress showed evidence of bedbugs!!! I left and tried two other motels with similiar results!!! Finally went down the road and found motel without bedbugs. Its getting frightening to travel. I think the recent increase of bedbugs will be a boon to RV industry. Now you can't travel using hotels without fear of bedbugs. Now I'm wondering if RV's for sale could have bedbugs too.Re: Health Insurance Question dave17352 wrote: If things go as planned you will be able to get obama care at the first of the year. You can apply as of october 1st. We will see though. If you are over 50 and have any kind of health problems, you will be denied coverage. Happened to me and was able to get on Obamacare PCIP before they closed it to new members. The official site for Obamacare is www.healthcare.gov and has link to all states and their policies. Only a few states are up so far. I have big questions regarding elegibility for full-timers. Its not clear yet what happens to those without income who are not poor. Washington state says no "asset limits" for expanded Medicaid. There is no mention if no income folk can buy into Obamacare insurance plans outright. So far it seems to be reserved for working folk.Re: Safari Trek or Georgie Boy LandauHoliday Rambler Traveler is similiar to the Safari Trek. Bed drops down from the ceiling. I know they come in 30 foot size and maybe smaller.Re: Would you buy an RV with slide outs again?I appreciate all the useful feedback. Was surprised almost everyone wouldn't buy without slides. If for no other reason it seems wise to buy with slides for resale value and ease of resale. On the other hand, buying slidelesss you might get a huge discount off NADA value. If one never intended to resell, buying slideless could be a huge value. I'm leaning toward buying with slides. Trying to resell a slideless RV might take a very long time and big hit in resale value. Thanks to everyone for their opinion!Would you buy an RV with slide outs again?I am looking to buy a HR 32' class A RV from year 1997-1999. Some have slideouts and some do not. I am leery of their reliability and possibility of leakage. The whole concept of slideouts that require an awning to prevent leaks is un-nerving. Seems there should be a better way. I'm wonder about those who have used slideouts for many years and their opinion. For a RV of this age, would you recommend slideouts? Has anyone used slideouts over a period of many years without leaks?
