The tire pressure recommended on the driver door tag says 75 psi front and 65 psi rear (drw). Last year I had a young tire tech tell me that they should all be at 80 psi, which I thought might be a bit high. I run about 80-85% weight capacity and I was wondering if the door tag is accurate. The reason I ask is that the door tags are likely put on before the vehicle is modified to become a motorhome. Would that change the recommended tire pressure? Thanks in advance.Re: 12V Fridge IssuesWell, I think I have figured this out and a good part of the issue stems from the fact that I...am an idiot. I got to start digging into this, later in the day, and wanted to check things as close as possible before actually removing the fridge to look at the guts of it. I checked the voltage at the fuse block, and it was extremely low (abt 10.5V). This fridge requires a minimum of 10.5V so any fluctuation at all would shut down the compressor. I went out to check the batteries and that is when I noticed that the GFCI that I am plugged into was tripped. Have no idea how long it was tripped, or why, because that particular outlet has never tripped in all the years I've been here. Any way the batteries, were quite low so I needed to charge them. Funny thing is I never noticed the lack of shore power because I hadn't used any 120V appliances and my lights inside worked, albeit a bit dimly, so I never considered that possibility. Also, I am impatient, and not super efficient, so I just jumped into analyzing the fridge itself. Anyway, once the batteries were charged up the fridge ran like a champ so... One more funny thing: Even with low batteries my generator started up and that surprised me but, hey, I'll take it. Now I will troubleshoot the outlet on the house but that is a different matter. I am just glad that I don't have a bad fridge in a new unit since I am heading out to camp with the family in about 2 weeks. Later gang.12V Fridge IssuesOK, new Class C (Gulf Stream) with 12V Dometic fridge. I have had the unit plugged into shore power, at my home, for a couple of months and have been using the fridge to keep some small things in (overflow from house fridge). Everything was fine until today (very hot day) when I went out just to check things, early evening, and the fridge was strangely quiet. You can normally hear the compressor running and now it wasn't. Thought maybe it had just reached temp and had cycled off but when I opened it things were not cold. It appeared to have stopped cooling, probably 3-4 hours prior. Checked the fuse and it is good. The light works and the controls work - I'm able to change settings, etc. - but when I clicked it to a cooler temp it seemed to engage something, but no compressor noise. Hope this is something I can look into because there are no dealers anywhere near me. Maybe some kind of reset? The manual has almost no information so I am hoping someone here might have some experience with this type of thing. Thanks gang.Memphis CrossingTwo seemingly viable options to cross the Mississippi at Memphis, for me. Coming from Southaven, MS and heading to Springfield, MO. The options being I-40 bridge and I-55 bridge. Is one better than the other? It will likely be on a Monday around 11 in the morning. Thoughts?Memphis to Springfield, MOHi gang, and I likely asked this a year or two ago but ended up making a different trip. I'm really looking for the best route from Memphis (actually Southaven, MS) to Springfield, MO. We leave north central Florida and go to visit family in Springfield before heading to Michigan. About three years ago I came down to Florida via Springfield and took 60 to 63 on through to 555. My recollection was that 63 was very mountainous and twisty - not really enjoyable. Now it might have been a combination of my rig (37 ft Class A V-10 gasser towing a car), at the time, and my, less than exemplary, driving skills but it wasn't a lot of fun. Is there a better route that doesn't add 100's of miles? Or is that a decent route that I just was not ready for, maybe? Some background: I have driven hills/mountains through Tennessee on I-75 and West Virginia and they sometimes tested the Class A but not overly so. As I said, maybe it was just me at the time. I now have a 30 ft Class C with the Ford 7.3L V-8 and it seems to have quite a bit more power than the old V-10 so it might not be an issue but if there are alternate routes that travel easily I would appreciate any info out there. Won't be making the trip until beginning of May but want to have some ideas by then. Thanks in advance!Re: Class C WarrantyThanks gang and in the past I have taken my out of warranty units to a truck garage and had pretty decent luck. In this case the warranty involves, what seems to be, a very common issue that Ford has not addressed with a needed recall. I get sporadic performance from the Advance Trac system, which goes out rather randomly. It is not a huge issue but when it goes out the cruise, ABS, and Hill Assist are also out. I have read, literally, dozens of posts from owners who have this problem. That is the main reason I want to get it to a dealer. BTW, the RV dealer we purchased from are not the most reputable when it comes to their own service and I am having difficulty getting information from them regarding truck dealers. Just like so many things involving our RV, there is frustration involved.Class C WarrantyI have a Class C that is new and still under warranty. There are a couple issues with the chassis (Ford E-450) that need to be addressed but I am guessing that the RV dealer doesn't do that and that it needs to go to a Ford dealer. Am I correct in assuming that? It doesn't appear that there are too many who will take in motor homes. What does everyone else do with warranty work on motor home chassis? Thanks gang. BTW I am in north central Florida and I called Ford of Ocala. They told me they are booked up on motor homes and are not taking any appointments. Frustrating...Re: Dometic AC IssuesThanks gang. Where would I find the freeze sensor and what does it look like?Dometic AC IssuesOK, it's a new rig (3500 miles bought new) with a Dometic 15K BTU roof top unit. First trip was really hot and AC worked extremely well, though there was a time or two when it would seem to want to run forever and I looked for and couldn't find the sensor thinking it might be in a bad location. Anyway, everything worked out and we parked it for a couple of weeks. Now on our second trip with today only being in the mid to upper 70's the unit has been acting up. It worked fine until mid-afternoon and stayed off for quite a while. I had t set at 75 and the place was getting pretty stuffy so I kicked it down to 74 and then 73 and then 72...nothing. I shut it off (the breaker had not been tripped) at the thermostat, let it sit for a minute and when I turned it back on it started right up and the compressor came on. After it ran for a while I kicked it back up to 75 and heard the compressor shut off but the fan ran for a very long time and then it shut down. Again it would not come back on even after a long break and dialing it down to 71. Coach was getting warm. Shut off the thermostat and after a minute turned it back on and it fired up, again - compressor too. Any thoughts?Re: First ImpressionsI know there will be questions with regard to the 9 mpg while towing but we did over 2000 miles and filled up often. Checked each fill up and went between 8.5 and 9.3 mpg. This was not using the on-board computer but doing the actual miles driven divided by gallons of gas used.
