You can read it here: 30219986Used Tow Bar ValuesThis is NOT an offer to buy or sell a tow bar. In that there is a current post asking about tow bars, I'm encouraged to ask how to determine the value of a used one. Somewhere between what the seller wants and what a buyer is willing to pay is a starting point. I'm assuming most people want to "horse trade" on something of this nature. Is it a percentage of the original price, percentage of the same new, age, miles used for towing? All assuming no damage and in fair to good cosmetics. Whether buying or selling starting at the wrong point could mean no interest or unwittingly making it a give-away. Thoughts or experience out there. Thanks, Don ParrishRe: Coachmen Santara, '94. 50 amps or 30 amps ?enblethen: Note taken. Don ParrishRe: Coachmen Santara, '94. 50 amps or 30 amps ?rlw999 Reading your response, I see the reasonable answer to my question/problem. You are most correct...I was making his problem, my problem. My problem solved. Thank you. Don ParrishCoachmen Santara, '94. 50 amps or 30 amps ?Older gentleman comes to our mobile home park with his Coachmen coach. Thinks it's 50 amps. My coach experience is only 50 amps and I doubt his suggestion of 50 amps. Electric cord for hook-up had been cut and poorly reattached. Turns out cord is three wire. Black-hot, White-common, and Green-I assume to be a ground for "bonding". Looks like 30 amps to me. I don't mind a quick rewire of our post box or I could "rent" him my short 50 amp to 30 amp "reducing" cord. Am I missing something here or does my plan sound electrically correct? This person has intentions of remaining in place for some time. Worth it to me if he stays. (We do have a couple of other RV units in our park and I did accommodate another 30 amp but we did not have a wiring issue.) Thanks for any thoughts. Such in the case with the '67 Corvette and the '53 Ford Tractor. Summer northern AZ and winter in Phoenix. How Many Pounds Are We PullingIn researching Hitch Capacity here, most of those discussions focus on tongue weight. I would like to have some estimate of how many pounds of pressure is exerted when pulling a toad or trailer. I can, with not too much effort, push or pull my toad by myself on level ground but not up a 6% grade. That's not 60 MPH either. All this comes to mind when working on winch capacity to load a toad on a trailer. Minus a "load cell", how might one compute the amount of "pull" in pounds to move a 4500# vehicle (tires properly inflated)?Removing US Gear D-Celerator From ToadUS Gear installed in Jeep Unlimited in '08. Removing the mechanical was simple and for that matter most of the wiring. There are five wires which come through the firewall and I'm apprehensive about just cutting those. I have no installation information and can find none on line. Did not install myself 10 years ago. The five wires are Red (larger gage-power I'm sure), Black (ground?), Blue (control?), Yellow (control?), and violet (connected with red wire plugged into the control module). Yet to disconnect and remove air/vacuum device under the hood. Maybe as simple has remove all the wires and plug the "t in" of the original configuration? Do we have a US Gear expert? I'm sure we do. Help would be appreciated. Test drive so far proves I haven't screwed up yet. Don ParrishRe: WrapsHave a friend who had his coach wrapped. Looked good from afar. But when you got close...it looked like a wrap. After you pay the big bucks for your coach, probably not a good "look" for some.Apology...Don ParrishApology for post earlier today concerning CW. Having been away from the digital world for several wonderful days and having searched for this situation before I posted, but not finding any information, in all innocence and wanting to know of all this; apparently I posted what had already had been beaten like a dead horse and appropriately removed. Very sorry and not a troll. Don Parrish. (Please note I post and write in my name and not a user name. I own what I say) Oh...thanks to those who did answer.
