I understand they are discontinued currently looking at a 2018 XD certified truck with 14,000 miles on it. As far as capacity it will be more than fine for what we have, 24ft 5000lb keystone passport 2400BH. And this will give us room to upgrade if we choose to. Don't plan modding, tuning, or deleting just keep it stock and properly maintained. Anyone here have this model and how do you like it. Thank YouF-150 Ecoboost towingGood day everyone, Starting to research a replacement tow vehicle and I like what I see with the F-150 Ecoboost. We have a 24ft travel trailer (Keystone passport 2400BH) 4700lbs empty, loaded for a trip 5500lb to 6000lb. Current tow vehicle is a 2004 dodge durango with the 5.7l engine. The durango has served us well but it is time to replace it. What I like about the F-150 is the cab room as we are a family of five, having a comfortable cab is important. We are looking to buy a used F150 most likely a 2013 or 2014 model. With that I have some questions for those that own and tow with an Ecoboost F-150. -3.55 axle or 3.73 axle. -Will the shorter wheel base super crew cab be a good stable platform. (the short wheel base will fit in our garage). -How is gas mileage while towing, current vehicle gets in the 10MPG range and would like something that gets at least that. -How is the gas mileage when not towing. -Would you tow cross-country with an ecoboost, as we are looking to take a trip from southwest Ohio to the Grand Canyon. And in future years we want to take a trip to Yellowstone. -How are these trucks for reliability, I am a firm believer in preventive maintenance so neglecting any and all required maintenance it not something I do with my vehicles. A few disclaimers we just purchased our current trailer last year and have no plans whatsoever to buy a bigger trailer because we buy a bigger truck. Our previous trailer we kept over twelve years and will do the same with this one. I am not interested in a ¾ ton diesel as I feel a properly equipped ½ ton would be a very safe tow vehicle for our trailer. I do have one other truck in mind that I will post questions about separately. Thanks for any feedback DavidRe: Towing AdviceSecond on the Prodigy brake controller and I would recommend a good hitch Blue-Ox or equalizer, the extra cost will be worth it. As for the tow vehicle either will work we tow a 24' 4700 lb empty weight trailer with a 2004 5.7L Durango and it does fine. May not go over the Rockies with it but it does fine from Southwest Ohio to Florida and up and down the east coast. Enjoy the new camper.Re: Looking to upgrade to a TT after hybrid for 14 years! We were in the exact same situation bought a Jayco 23B in 2004 kept it till last year, needed something different as our kids grew. Ended up with a keystone passport 2400BH, has all the features you have listed and a few additional things we appropriate such as larger tanks (fresh and holding), automatic awning ETC. Gave up having a separate couch and dinette, don't miss it as we typically do not spend to much time in the camper during the day.Re: cleaning bunk endsI have cleaned our Jayco 23B two different ways. 1; Wet wash it using a bucket of water with a little vinegar diluted in the water. 2; I have dry washed the the tent ends using a foaming type of glass cleaner and microfiber towels. Both have worked just fine it would depend on having enough time during a wet wash to let the ends completely dry out before closing up the ends.Camco Tornado tank rinsing system (for a Jayco 23B)Hello, Anyone install a camco tornado tank rinsing system in the black tank of a Jayco 23B. If so how does it work and any problems with the installation. Thanks David2004 Dodge Durango towingI have a 2004 Dodge Durango with the 5.7L tow package. Currently we tow a Jayco 23B trailer length hitch to bumper is just shy of 25, weight is 4100lbs empty. We are considering a starcraft 26' bunk house this is a 5000lb trailer and is 5' longer. We typically tow from southwest Ohio to the east coast, and Florida. Our Durango has a tow rating of 7400lbs, it handles our current trailer just fine. My question is will the additional weight and length be to much for the Durango to handle. I have never pulled anything but our Jayco so I don't want to make this change and then regret the decision. At some point we do plan on upgrading to a larger truck but until then our Durango will be it. ThanksCampgrounds along I-65 north of Birmingham ALWe are heading to the Florida panhandle coming from Southwest Ohio. Looking to overnight north of Birmingham AL. Any suggestions, we have stayed at Texas tea in the past looking to get a little further this trip. Thanks David
