I took the gas burner apart and cleaned the orifice, burner tube and tried to clean the flue as best I can. I tried pushing a cable down from the top, but it hit something (baffle I would guess) and then blew it out from the bottom. Quite a bit of smaller debris fell out. Lit the propane system, and it lit fine, and the burner is running. The flame just looks small to my uneducated mind. I dont really hear it crank up either like I do in my newer travel trailer. Is there a way to verify the gas system is working as it should?Re: Adding a Water Heater to Six Pacthank you. I just so happened to get a diagram like that with my new switch today. I dont however have a yellow wire just a green.Re: Adding a Water Heater to Six Pacsuburban sw6d but its the camper wires im really trying to figure. Im guessing its fairl low draw for the heater???Adding a Water Heater to Six PacHi Folks, Im adding a water heater to my 2006 Six Pac s650. It already had the hole in it, just needed to cut the siding. The plumbing/wiring was already there as well, but I can not determine which wire is for what. I have two hot wires (purple and brown), and they both seem to be on the same fuse. THere are two whiteground wires, and a 3rd paired wire with like 22 gauge red and white wires inside of a loom. I am not sure which wires are to be used for the water heater, and which may be intended to use for the heater which would go in an adjacent spot. Anyone have any ideas?Re: Hengs escape hatch lid replacementdisregard. I thought they slipped together like the rolled sheetmetal hinges. This lid hinge slides over the base hinge completely. It just took me forever to figure it out. New Hengs lid works fine on my 2006 Six Pac escape hatch for anyone searching.Hengs escape hatch lid replacementIm stumped, and missing something. I just pulled the old escape hatch lid of my 06 six pac in order to replace it with a new hengs unit (the old one is in bad shape and probably not worth fiberglassing.) I for the life of me can not figure out why the lid falls out of the hinge when bedding the lid. Te hing style is continuous metal opposing 'C'. I had to slide the old one out, but the new one just pushes back in, no need to slide. In fact, the old one does that now as well. Is there some trick to getting these things to hold together?Re: what to do if you have a leak?thanks for all the info so far. I started pulling some screws under the bunk (which yes, is where my son noted water coming out), and one or two had just the least little bit of rust around a few threads. Im guessing, after crawling around this thing a bit more, that the leaks are coming from the seam where the rubber meets the aluminum over the bunk area, and possibly the windows. Im planning on removing the front siding, its just hard to do with a recent shoulder surgery. Hoping to tackle that in the coming days.Re: what to do if you have a leak?there was no other leak indication until then. Everything inside seems fine, walls feel hard, with no soft spots noted anywhere. how do you determine where the leak is accurately? I checked all the wholes around the vents. All wood shows no evidence of leaking. Where the siding meets the EPMD roof, and the windows near the bunk would be my guess. whats the best way to dry the inside and to make sure its dry?what to do if you have a leak? While driving home from storage with the truck camper, my son noticed water leaking from the seams of the siding under the bed. I was unaware of any lekas prior to this. Aside from the obvious of fixing potential leak points (to which there are many on this camper, as the camper has not had any maintenance done that i can tell since new in 07) what else should I do? This is the first evidence of any leaking, and the camper was/is in really great shape when I bought it a year ago from the original owner. I will re-caulk and seal everything on this camper, but should I strip the siding off and let it dry out? Would a dehumidifier inside be enough? Its hot here now, would just leaving windows open for a while be sufficient? Thanks.
