Best Regards!HWH Oil Tank QUestionOn my 07 WB Journey I need to check the oil level in my HWH tank. The cap is tight and before I break something I need to know if it is a twist off cap or a pull off cap. It appears to be plastic and I dont' want to make a problem by removing it wrong. Thanks!Re: Electric slide locksI use a pipe cleaner to clear out the weep holes on my Journey. Despite having a slide awning, dirt, dust and water can get under it and fill the plastic well the slide lock is located in. Once a quarter I clean out the holes so water doesn't back up and overflow into the cabinet and interior on my MH. Best Regards!Re: HWH Levelers-Final Fix?I took an old toothbrush, some rags and WD-40 and cleaned all around the seal area on my slowly retracting jack. There was a lot of built up crud there, once it was cleaned out, the jack retracted fine. May not solve your problem, but for a few minutes of your time and next to no cost, it's worth a try. Best Regards!Re: leak in the slide out.Yes, those drain holes need to be cleaned periodically. I use a tooth pick and then a pipe cleaner. Not the greatest system for locking a slide, but if you maintain the drain, you won't have any problems. Plenty of clearance to install it. When I change the filters, I change the water/separator filter first. I used the primer pump and fill it. Then I start the engine and let it run to get any remaining air through the system. I then replace the secondary filter up on the engine block, fill it with the primer pump and start the engine. Doing it this way is easier because I don't have to pump the pump handle as much. Best Regards!Re: Military/DoD Are you active duty, retired or a veteran?Retired USCG CWO3 (1981-2011). Best Regards!Re: Coolant leak on Cummings Diesel engineKaren, I (your blog buddy Paul) second the advice not to use any sealant in the system. Leaving the radiator cap loose is also a good idea, it won't allow pressure to build up in the system until you can get to a repair place.
