They are built in, and we are talking about a 13 year old inverter. I would hate to pay to get it repaired and have something else go wrong. The new residential fridge has sensitive electronics that I would hate to damage with a modified sine. The pure sine does not have breakers built in and would have to have external breakers addedInverter-converter/chargerWe have a 2004 Monaco Diplomat. For the past year we seem to have had a problem with our Zantrex Freedom 458 MSW 2000W inverter charger. The builtin breakers would cut off at odd times. A few clicks and we could get them to come back on, so we knew they were failing. Today they went off and won't come back on. In the mean time our Norcold fridge bit the dust and we replaced it with a domestic Samsung, which I really love. We also have 4-100W solar panels on our roof which came with a 2000W PSW inverter which we were planning on using for the new fridge to protect the electronics in the new fridg, and 4 more 100W panels we recieved yesterday and plan on installing soon. Now with the Xantrex Frreedon 458 MSW 2000W biting the dust we are looking for a new inverter/converter/charger with PSW. We are looking at two different ones, the 815-2012 Xantrex Freedon SW 2012-12V, 2000W inverter-charger for around $1600 and the Aimes Power PSW 2000W 12V inverter-converter/charger for $600. We have never heard of Aimes but the reviews are generally good. The PSW inverter-converter/chargers do not have breakers built in so we will have to install seperate breakers and when we install the new panels we will need a bigger controler. Do any of you electonic experts have any experience with the Aimes inverter-converter/charger or any advice about installing?Re: Worse this year?Things may have changed a little, but I know for sure that after 18 years in CG (SP, Fed and private) that it has a lot more to do with me and my age. I find myself saying "those kids don't know anything" "they are rude" "they have no respect for their elders". Then in the back of my mind I hear my parents saying the same thing about my generation. Funny how things go round and round.Re: Oregon Coast TripWe made that trip year before last and plan on it again this summer. Reserve America is a great website not only to make reservations (needed in summer) but info for size. Forest Service campgrounds near Coos Bay and Florence held our 40 MH very nicely and the old age pass is valid there too.Xantrex inverter/converter problemsOur Xantrex 458, 2000W, MSW, inverter/converter keep tripping one of the two 20amp breakers. The top breaker controls all the inverter controlled circuits inside the rig and it keep tripping. The other breaker... I don't know what it does, but it is OK. That top breakers sporadically trips even when we are using minimum current. I called Xantrex but they were not much help, and the closest repair place is 500 miles away. I think the breaker just needs replaced but Xantrex will not sell to individuals and will not allow thier repair facilities to sell either. Has anyone had any experience with this problem?Re: Yellowstone Association work experience questionWe worked for Yellowstone Association in 2011 at the 2 Grant stores. We loved the family of workers and our bosses. Every place has it's problems but the management in Yellowstone is the best. They care about the park and they care a lot about their employees. RV site rent is a little high because you pay for your own utilities but it is well worth the price to spend time in the park.Re: Oregon state tax on Workcampers? You need to find out if you are going to get a tax statement W2/1099? Then you need to find out if OR has a min earned wage to report. OR is a heavily taxed state. They tax retirement income and go by your Fed return, so be carefull.Re: Curious as to those who work & full time. With 7 yrs maintenance with NPS, Dept Army, Forest Service and then bought back 3 yrs of military (Navy back in the 60's) gave me 10 yrs of government service and qualified for early retirement at 62 with small pension that pays the health insurance premium and a little left over. Once you are in you can apply for positions in any location you want. We worked in Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial in OH, Golden Gate NRA in SF,CA, White Sands Missile Base in NM, Grand Canyon NP in AZ, Oregon Trail BLM in Baker City,OR. Getting these jobs isn't easy at first but once you are hired and do a good job you are good to go.Re: Curious as to those who work & full time.We started FT in 1997 at age 47/48 working for minimum wage in the national parks for the concessionaires, then seasonally for the NP's. Eventually DH got a permanent position with park service. That got us benefits and the ability to transfer and travel from park to park. Best of both world for an RVer. Some places provided RV spots or housing. After 10 years (bought back military time)we were able to retire at age 62 and keep our health insurance. Check out the USA jobs web site and see if there is a job that you would qualify for. The process is complicated and takes a while to get used to but it was well worth it for us.
