The last few times when we have gotten ready to go on a trip and try to cool the fridge first it doesn't hold LP setting. It beeps and says no LP. We have the coach trickle charging and LP open and stove burner works. It works when we are plugged into shore power 50 amps or have the generator running. Today we thought we figured it out but then heard the beeping. Now there is a code L1oP. I opened the back vent to the fridge and saw that at one point it had been retrofitted (tag on a wire). The freezer stays cold and keeps food frozen but fridge is struggling. Any ideas?Re: Satellite Service Bill.Satellite wrote: As you have discovered, DirecTV will not activate service for short term usage. However, you dome is capable of receiving the programming from either DirecTV or Dish. You don't say what brand antenna you own but some are simple to change and some require special software. If you can find out what make and model dome you have I could give you additional information. If you are able to change your dome over to a Dish setup, Dish offers a pay-as-you-go service. You must purchase the receiver (usually less than $100) and then sign up for the PAYG when you are ready to watch satellite. You can turn it on for as little as 30 days. If you don't need it for the entire 30 days you can call Dish, have the service disconnected and they will hold a "days credit" but no refunds. Thank you! WE have a Kingdome (?) and a antenna that pops up. 1 digital TV and the others are analog. DTV only allows suspension 2x/yr. We are not full timers so this isn't good for us and dont want satellite at the house. We ended up ordering a Dish receiver because of their pay as you go. Hoping that works for us. Thanks for all advise.Re: Satellite Service enblethen wrote: Do you have satellite at the house? Some domes can be changed to other services like Dish by changing settings. If you have service at the house, you maybe able to take the receiver from house and use it in rig. No we have local cable.Satellite ServiceWe just bought our first used coach that has Direct TV installed dome on roof. We do not have direct TV at home. We are trying to figure out the best way to just get it for our trips. We are not full timers. We have been told bu other full timers we can get it turned on for only a few days at a time but when we call for DTV service they tell us we have to buy the whole package that they don't do RV sales. Help?Re: Help Please? Power cord trips GFI mchero wrote: OK guy's, trying to explain this one to you all. I think I know what EXACTLY is happening. I need to dig up the thread...... OK read this.... http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/27006724/gotomsg/27010746.cfm#27010746 This is a great explanation! Very accurate of our situation. Transfer switch is a Surge Guard. We were also told it has a built in surge protector...Re: Help Please? Power cord trips GFIUpdate: called the manufacturer of the transfer switch. They told us "these transfer switches will trip a GFI". So now we have to trickle charge our house/chassis batteries. Our mechanic said "you are rookie RV'ers? Your first year is gonna suck!" We are learning the hard way for sure...thank you for all your suggestions. I am learning a lot from this forum. The first thing I am learning is CW service dept tells you want you want to hear and they still don't fix the problem. Horrible tech support, communication, and experience! Very disappointed.Re: Help Please? Power cord trips GFIThank you for all suggestions. We had a mobile rv guy come out and this is what has been discovered...he checked the ohms to the power cord and then checked the transfer switch. He disconnected the transfer switch, plugged into the GFI and low and behold we did not trip the GFI. So there is a short somewhere in the transfer switch. So back to the shop to repair/replace that. bottom line lesson learned is that it should not be tripping the GFI. Plain and simple. Thanks much to Jerry for troubleshooting with me!Re: Help Please? Power cord trips GFI Mandalay Parr wrote: Regardless of who says what, you have an electrical problem if the GFI trips. Suggest you get an electrical person to help you. Several conditions can cause it. I have seen where the the MH was not properly wired causing such a problem. It had the neutral and ground wires connected together at the power distribution panel. Suggest you get it corrected whatever it is. I totally agree. Frustrated as we bought this coach on the 19 of November and have had it in the shop all but 5 of those days. Service dept say they have fixed things and they haven't and then when we get it back there is something else wrong with it. I see you live in Phoenix, who do u trust to service your coach? Thank you!Re: Help Please? Power cord trips GFIThank you. We took your suggestions and went back to storage to trouble shoot. We turned off house/engine batteries, all the breakers above driver seat (including inverter). Plugged in and still popped the GFI 120 outlet at our parking space. We spoke to the on site mechanic and he said some of the larger/older coaches are not GFI friendly. Also the facility where we park have about 100 coaches plugged in and said depending on coach may or may not work because of all the other coaches plugged in. He suggested an echo charger for both house & engine batteries. He seemed knowledgable however it seems odd to me that it would trip when all is off. Also, we live in AZ and the weather is sunny and a beautiful 68 degrees outside. I wouldn't think weather/moisture would be the issue. But what do I know...that's why I am on this forum. ;-pHelp Please? Power cord trips GFIHi! We are brand new and very "green" RV'rs. Just purchased our first MH, Monaco Dynasty 2007. We parked it for the first time in storage today and went to plug in our 50 amp to 30.dogbone>15 dogbone into the outlet to trickle charge. We tripped the outlet, the outlet next to it and another across the parking space. Everything was off in the coach. We checked the voltage at the outlet and it was 120. Our power cord is automatic and the motor to retract it had recently been replaced (not sure if related). What are we doing wrong? Or what could be wrong? Thank you in advance! Clarification: We popped the GFI outlet at our parking space and two others near by.
