I wanted new ones, but big rig ones are 24" wide. Mine are 20" wide. I want to add about 6 inches to mine. So total length would be 32 years nches long. So my idea was to add to what I already have. Anybody done that? And where did you go? Did you use rubber?Re: any good advice about towing a carJust got back from towing a Pontiac Vibe for 2500 miles. Never towed a car behind a motorhome. First motre home. Had it a month and had the car hooked up on a Friday and left Monday! Only problem I had was they were suppose to hook up a charge line. Newmar lays in the wires, but doesn't hook up the charge line. So they assumed it was hooked up. I used the car almost every day. But coming home we did not disconnect it much. In Nevada my car battery was dead. I had to leave the key on ACC to unlock the wheel. So for about 400 miles I had no brakes in my tow car. Make sure your charge line works.Re: Roof antenna- antenna booster? Thanks for the confirmation. My wife was sure it was the opposite. She bet me $100 that she was right! I won, she owes me cash! Oh wait..........it's my money too. She conned me again.Roof antenna- antenna booster? We are having trouble getting reception at an RV Park in Jackpot Nevada. It's a new RV. I told my wife that when using the crank up roof antenna that the antenna booster must be on. She swears that the boater button is on only when using cable! Which is it? The cable at this park does not work, so the roof is it. I think we are too far from any signalRe: HELP! Low tunnel questionBad day. I decided to try it. 2 miles from first tunnel is a huge yellow warning sign stating anything ove 11ft 9 inches must exit over Bridge of the Gods and back across to the Interstate! The trucker atlas was wrong, the DOT website for height was Wrong. I even called the state Police. They said I was too close the limit to call. So I canceled my 3 days at the Elk RV park in Trout Lake, was not able to meet up with my old work mate. To top it off the RV park charged me $60 cancellation fee!! So here I am in Kennewick Washington and headed to Idaho. What a stressful day. I'm beat.Re: HELP! Low tunnel questionOh, the dimensions are ft and inches, not fraction of inches. So it's 13 ft 10 inches.Re: HELP! Low tunnel questionThe tunnel is hwy 14 in Washington State. Just outside of Portland Oregon. The first tunnel looks ok. When we Leave Truot lake and go back to hwy 14 going east, there is a tunnel at Lyle Washington that worrying me. If I can't go thru there, then I have to go back west towards Portland, crops the Columbia river on 205 back to Interstate 84 and go east.HELP! Low tunnel questionMy motorhome is 13 ft. HighTo the top of the air conditioner. I measured it. I got a Trwuckers atlas that lists low tunnels and bridges. The highway I plan on going has one **** tunnel that seems too low. In the atlas it calls out two dimensions. Maximum 13.10, minimum 12.9. I assume that this is the dimension of the tunnel itself. The middle is 13.10 and the right side is 12.9. IS THAT CORRECT? I don't want to rip off my air conditioner. I should not have waited until the last minute to look at this atlas. I guess I should talk to a trucker.Re: Tow Bar connectingThanks you guys. I never asked. Everything was at closing time at the RV place. He just does repairs and installs. He's not open Saturday's. First motorhome, first tow car. Leaving on western states trip Monday. Cutting things close.
