We cut the cable a few years ago and use Sling to provide for my college football addiction and other cable programming. We stream Netflix, Amazon and Hulu using Roku devices on each of the TVs. Wifi is supplied using Verizon hotspots and AT&T connected car device all with unlimited data. All works great for the last 4 years. Hey George, Do you use the Verizon hotspot in the rig then to serve as your way to get channel updates to your Tablo when you are on the road? Thank you in advance for your additional insight. EricDVR option for Fulltimers with Home baseHi there, DW and I have a home base in Sacramento California. We have had Uverse for a while, but will be cutting the cord, at least sort of. We will be continuing to have a home base here in Sacramento and retaining our DSL/Highspeed internet service at our home base. We will be getting rid of the TV portion. We are not fans of DISH, DirecTV or any other cable service. We will be using Over the air (OTA) antenna to get our local channels and we are going to use WATCHTV or SLING or some other option for back filling some of our other channels like Animal planet when we are at home. We would like a suggestion for a DVR set up that we can use for recording some of our local programming so that we can watch those recordings when we are on the road. We have an older Magnavox unit that we could use, but we can only watch it's recordings in the Livingroom where we would put the DVR. We were considering either a TABLO or AIRTV unit with a hard drive to serve as a DVR. We currently have Chromecast nodes on each TV in the rig. We are wondering if anyone else has been down this road and if you have any suggestions for us. Thank you in advance for your advise. Safe Travels all! We have a home base in Sacramento area, but we travel frequently, and sometimes we want to watch TV when we are staying at a camp ground. We've found that DirecTv and Uverse DVR's don't work when we are on the road. For DirecTv, I found that setting up the tripod Satellite dish a pain to set up when we are on the road. The dome on our 2003 Allegro bus no longer functions. We are able to watch OTA when we are at Campgrounds, but sometimes we stay places that don't have any OTA service and no cable. We had DISH years ago when we lived in a house, but had not tried them yet. We'd welcome your thoughts on what equipment configuration and subscription has worked the best for you when being on the road. Thanks in advance for your thoughts on this subject. Safe Travels Eric and Carolnew PC for rigHi there everyone, DW and I full time in our rig and have been doing so for 5 years now. We have a computer desk with a small profile (12x4x14) tower computer setup. I do A LOT of image and video editing for a dog rescue that the wife and I volunteer for. We like having a full keyboard and monitor. We are looking for suggestions on a replacement box for our current setup. Are there any recommendations for what brand and model to look for? We don't need a lot of horse power, but I do need to be able to have 2 TB of fast random access storage. The cloud or external USB drives wont cut it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The door release button on the microwave won't push in as far as it use too and release the door. We find that if we keep working the button, the door will eventually release. Has anyone run into this before? If so, what did you do to resolve this issue? Thanks! Eric and Carol AndersonRV'ing in/near Yosemite in 40 MotorhomeHi there everyone, DW and I have a 40 foot Allegro bus with slides on the Drivers side. We'd like suggestions on what camp grounds we should look at if we want to visit the Yosemite Valley as part of our camping in the area. We would be coming from the Sacramento Area. Happy Camping! Eric and Carol AndersonRe: Allegro Bus 2003 Instruments not workingOK, So I found the VDC in the power cable bay in the back Drivers side bay. I've worked to remove and reseat the connectors on the VDC. Is there any junction box towards the front of the rig, in the cock pit area where the cable from the VDC terminates to and then branches off to the instruments? I can't find one, but that just might mean I haven't found it yet. Thanks! - Eric-Allegro Bus 2003 Instruments not workingHi there everyone, We have a 40 foot 2003 Allegro bus on a Freightliner chassis on which the instruments and warning indicators is not working on today. We were getting ready to take off with it and when we fired it up, the engine started just fine and the air came up on the air bags, but we didn't get the regular Low air warning horn and the air pressure gauges never read anything. Even the voltage and fuel level gauges were dead. Also, we did not get any warning lights such as low air or any of the other regular lights. I checked the 'Instruments' fuse and it was fine. I also checked the ground bus bar inside the back of the instrument cluster (accessed from the top of the panel) and all seemed to be intact. The obligatory 'Wire wiggling' rendered no blips of life. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! - Eric and Carol AndersonRe: Refridgerator won't run on ACHi there everyone, Ok, so after finding a diagnostic manual on the net, I checked the heater rods and both had 61 ohms of resistance. Since the fuses were good and there was power to the board, the diagnostics said to replace the control board. I got a new board through Amazon. In looking at the old board, it looks like there was a failure at the main A/C resistor. The board is scorched under the big blue resistor. My question is, for anyone who might have replaced their board, did you have the same problem and did you have any problems after that? Thanks for the help and the insight!
