Love the pictures and it is close enough for a weekend visit. It will mostly be DH, myself and our DD, is she is not working. We would like to be less than 2 to 3 hours from Johnson City/Kingsport, TN. DH's employer is permanently shutting it's doors next week and we are going to use this time to check out new places to live and work. And we thought that staying at campgrounds would be our best option.. As far as amenities goes, we don't need a pool or playground, no grandbabies on these trips. Level lot with water and electric are the most important. WIFI would be awesome but not a necessity. We don't use cable at home and wouldn't use it camping. We both love small towns and tend to shy away from touristy places. We visited Maggie Valley Ghost Town In the Sky a couple years ago and liked it. May have to check out the RV Resort there.Campgrounds in the northwest part of North CarolinaDH and I have a 26.1 Wildwood X-Lite that we just bought this spring. Our TV is a 2005 Toyota Tundra double cab with a full-sized bed(that is all I know about his truck). What are some nice campgrounds in the western part of North Carolina? We live in northeast Tennessee. DH and I are considering moving to the Carolina's and would like to spend a weekend or two in the area. That way we could combine a job/home search and camping get-a-way.Re: traveling with catsWe have 3 cats and have never taken them camping with us. I always wanted to know if others cat owners took their cats with them. Now I know!! LOL!! We seldom go far from home and always check on the cats every day or two. I would be heart broken if they got out of the TT and something happened to them. All 3 have been indoor only since they were tiny kittens. I am amazed at all those who have litter boxes in their tow vehicles. DH is fond of the cats, especially our little kitten, but there is no way he would ever let me put a litter box in his truck. Our kitties have only been in a vehicle to go to the vet.Re: Observations from a camper window shopping tripWe financed our TT for 6 years and our payment are just over $270. We don't mind paying for 6 years but 12 years is way to long for us. I would rather pay a little more each month and have it paid for sooner.Re: Looking for a TT that fits my family needsWe also wanted to up-grade from our pop-up to a TT. We have a Toyota Tundra Double cab with tow limit of 6500 (according to our Toyota dealership). We looked for months for a TT that suited our needs. We have 2 DD's, one is getting re-married and the other is graduating high school this month. So in a year or less, it will mostly be just DH and I, possibly the grandkids. We found this TT, 2013 Wildwood X-Lite by Forest River. We got it for just over $14,000. It comes in under the Tundra's tow limit and that was very important to DH. We spend a lot of time outdoors when camping, so having a slide was not important to us. We decided to also keep our pop-up. It is in excellent condition and we decided to give it to our youngest DD as a kind of graduation gift.Re: New TTLove your TT!!! We almost bought the same TT model. We bought a Wildwood X-Lite that has the same layout instead. I can't wait to get our new TT out of storage and go on our first camping trip with it.Re: TV wall mountWe are also considering putting a flat screen in our TT. Will be watching for do's and don'ts so we don't mess up anything.Re: Newb question: Stranger approaches your RVIt would really depend on the circumstances as to whether or not I would let them. If they stood there talking for several minutes and were showing no signs of distress, the answer would be a firm "NO." We have always tried to park close to a bathhouse or bathroom facility when we camped with our tent or pop-up. I would never have the nerve to ask to use a strangers bathroom.Re: Help identify these blue clips in our fridgeThank you all! I don't feel so dumb now. I really had no clue as to what they were used for. And thanks for the link to replacements. I have it saved.Re: Help identify these blue clips in our fridgeThank you!
