I did locate what I believe is the ground wire, it is screwed into the metal close to the fuse box. It looked fine however I will take another look and probably take it off, clean the area and wire good and reattach.Front clearance lights do not work!I have been a member of this site for a few years but never posted before, so bear with me. I have a 2003 Coachmen class C Freedom on a Chevy chassis. It all began when I noticed two of my front clearance light lens were cracked, apparently a limb hit them on one of our last trips. I tried to turn the lights on to see if they were affected or just cracked....no worky! I bought two new lights, with bulbs and replaced them. Still they didn't come on. So now i"m thinking fuse...but wait that can't be it because the back lights all work, up front the parking lights come on but not the top lights. I checked all fuses anyway. All wire connections I can see or feel seem good. All I can think of is this....is it at all possible that the lights are wired such that when one goes out they all go out. The two bulbs I replaced were not bad. My only recourse is to remove the three lights to check the bulbs. The lens has a clear inspection spot in the lens but I can't see the bulb filament well enough to tell if it is blown. All comments are welcome!Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???HANG IN THERE!!!Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???Took a nap in it! We were sitting in there talking about what special things we should take on our planned trip to Illinois (the longest one we will have been on so far, about 1500 miles round trip), and I was so tired I curled up in the back bed and took a nice nap - for some reason that RV is my most favorite place to take a nap! On the way back we're going to stop for a couple days at Land Between the Lakes in Kentucky, anybody want to recommend their favorite campground there? I think there is Piney Campground, Hillmans Ferry, Wranglers and Energy Lake? We like lots of trees and privacy, some close fairly easy trails to walk Scout and hopefully on the water. We'll be getting there on a Monday so hopefully won't have to worry about reserving a spot.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosCinderella, we bought a long runner rug to cover the carpet in front of the jacknife couch and on the end that sits on the linoleum in the kitchen area, DH added 2 pieces of the adhesive back velcro, and two matching pieces on the linoleum. Now the rug stays put. But if you have it only on carpet not sure that would work for you.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosHated the tacky brass handles on all of the cupboards, those were the first to go - replaced them all with some nice branch-style handles in a dark bronze. We wanted a bulletin board to tack up pictures of our travels, got those 12 inch cork boards to cover the wall on the side of the fridge, tried putting them up with double sided tape (which didn't hold), so once again double-sided Eternabond to the rescue! Those squares aren't going anywhere. We've used that tape for so many things, I recommend everyone with an RV carry some with them! For our pantry, found just the cheap slide-out wire baskets at Walmart (all of $7.99 each I think), and DH found a way to make them work, screwed the frame onto each shelf, and added wire ties to keep the drawers stable when they're slid out - they've worked out great. He also built a nice little shelf with a front to it to go over the kitchen window, we keep our walkies talkies on it, plugged in, and on longer trips I put all my spices and our prescriptions on it, it holds a lot since it runs from the wall to the stove hood. We had to redo our shower, and used that fiberglass product from Home Depot that is used in a lot of commercial baths, with the leftover DH cut squares to go over each vent, added velcro to the perimeter of each vent and to the squares to keep them up there, and cut the foil type installation to add to the middle of each square. It is amazing how nicely those squares match our ceiling, and they keep it nice and dark at night, and do a good job of insulating from the cold (in the bathroom with the fan, he cut it down the middle to make two pieces, with a small round part cut out for the handle with the fan switch).Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???Very NICE job Alaskan!! I'm proud of ya'. Make sure you don't have any leaking around the frame of in the roof line....trust me, you never know what you will find when you start removing the outer skin from a MH. Keep us posted and "keep on truckin"! R.W. Bowers (A.K.A.--"Buffalo Bob")Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???We've taken 2 sho rt trips so far - looks like it weathered the winter OK - but the house battery that was with the MH when we bought it kicked the bucket (considering it was 7 years old, I guess that's pretty good). So today we purchased a new battery and sprung for a charger too. Another short camping trip planned for this week, this weekend we should be close to hitting the 80's in the Atlanta area. Finding nice places to camp that are close to home with the current price of gas.Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today??? fisher60 wrote: Cleaned the contacts for the sensors on the grey tank. Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???Just went out there to get the drill - it has become the place where you can often find a tool because the last place it was used was there! Not because of all the repairs (we took care of that a couple of months ago), but because we're still working on getting it to exactly where we want it - preparing for our longest trip to date since we bought it in April - a week over Thanksgiving on Jekyll Island - which (sob) will probably be our last trip until the spring. After that we'll probably have to go ahead and winterize. To prepare, we've started a long list - please feel free to give us pointers, I've got the Thanksgiving crockpot recipe printed out, we've got a list of things we think we need to get done before we take off for 6 days away in the RV (the longest we've gone prior to this is 3 days) - Memory Foam mattress topper should arrive tomorrow, have a cable splitter and extension cord so that our oldest grandchild can burrow down in the cabover and watch her own shows in the evening, (don't know why the outlets are all in the last third of the RV), DH has built a basic counter out of wood with a cutout for the faucet to go over the sink so we can have a good food prep area, and still on our list are these, please let us know what we're missing: Surge Protector Those things to keep an awning from flapping Water filter Small stepladder for the cabover and other times when we need a ladder ice cube trays long mirror for bathroom door (I miss having a full length mirror) Love this forum, we learn so much!
