All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Garmin 890 GPS unit ?I ended up picking up a RV1090 and have no regrets. it has a large 10" screen and I installed it on the dash so not only I but the DW can see it as well. This helps when I'm in busy traffic and need her to assure I'm on the right path especially when exiting.Re: Insurance CancelledI had Foremost for years and had no issues with them but moved up to a CLASS A last year. I have three cars and a house with Liberty Mutual so I naturally wanted to go with them since I get a discount from work but was told Liberty Mutual doesn't insured MHs but one of there companies, SAFECO does though it wouldn't honor the discount. Not happy but price was competitive. I had no claims, yet and they seem to be on top of things.Mounting my angle iron for my mudflaps on my Class AThis topic has been moved to another forum. You can read it here: 29343742Mounting my angle iron for my mudflaps on my Class AFirst let's start off with a Happy 4th of July to all. Next I'm looking for some input and perhaps some Pics of how they mounted their angle iron to the rear of their Class A MH. First I will say I have a 2018 FR GT5 31L5 and I guess I felt it would be a no brainer to mount this once I got it so didn't look to closely at areas to mount it to on the rear of the frame but now that I have it and look underneath I've come to the conclusion the only way to mount the aluminum angle iron need to mount the mudflap to is to either weld it to the frame or drill holes into the frame to mount it. Both not ideal things to do. So I'm looking for some suggestions and Pics if possible (because we all know Pictures speak a thousand words) on how other's mounted theirs. I also like to know how far back and how high off the ground it should be. I hear 4" off the ground is the norm to keep rocks from pummeling my toad. Thxs to allHow safe is the dealer with your stuff?Being new to MH, I'm dropping my new MH off at the dealer for warranty work in a few hrs. and was wondering do you empty everything out or certain things or nothing at all? I've taken out grille, tools but left in my box of electrical stuff and cables along with my sewer and water hoses etc. Are things safe there? I'd hate to have to take everything out... and then put it back in in a week Thoughts?Plates or blocks for stabilizer jacksBeing only several months in the Class A still finding lots of questions especially as I wind down from my first camping trip. All the years with my TT I kept blocks of wood to place under my scissor jacks to help on level ground and to provide support when on dirt or grass. Not a great deal of weight sat on them for the most part compared to a MH but now I'm wondering do I need to add plates or blocks for my MH to my arsenal of things to keep with it when traveling? Lot more weight as well as pressure and I would think wood unless really built up would break. Discussed it with my son, the mechanic and I was going to have him weld me some handles on aluminum plates similar to what we use our quint/ladder truck on the Fire Dept. I'm on, for the stabilizers when deployed but start wondering if it's really needed and if so how thick should the plates be...1/4', 3/8", etc.. My rig is the 31L5 Georgetown, weighs in probably around 9 1/2 - 10 tons loaded for camping though that's another step I need to take is get this weighed. Looking for inputs from the experts and more experience folks, ThxsRe: Trailer HitchI think the safest and smartest move would be a brand new hitch. Like others I too, my PU was rear ended and without hesitation the adjuster included the hitch and even explained to me why... like NJRVer stated you are now going to see a latent failure to the weld.Massachusetts EZPass Transponder Mounting on my Class AWhere do folks mount their EZPass on their windshields for MA. and probably any state that has an EZPass system? ThxsLooking for Massachusetts folks to weigh in on registrationTrying to find out if I need to register my new tow dolly in Massachusetts? When I was down at the RMV registering the MH I noticed a sign basically stating everything needs to be registered in good old Massachusetts. I meant to ask when I was up at the desk but forgot about it by then and now that I have the dolly I'm looking for input. Thxsmoving a tow dolly aroundSo wondering what people use to move there tow dollies around their own yard, camp ground etc... I just got an Acme Tow Dolly and wanted to put a wheel on it that flips out of the way but with the surge brake set up there's just no room. I'm looking at a trailer dolly nothing fancy but wanted to know if anyone use them and what they store them when they travel in the MH? I could carry it but their not light and it seems this is a simpler solution but wondering about storing it? and if you do use them which one do you have and have u been satisfy with it? Thxs
