You've given me a lot of good information and I'm thinking it is now time to call Direct TV and get it straight from the horses mouth! Many thanks all!! SnoopDoes Direct TV have a mobile dish? Here is the deal....I have a B+ Leisure Travel Van, a mountain home in Colorado, and a home base residence in West Texas where I only get over the air free TV. With all the new technology does Dish or Direct TV offer any plans that I might could use in all three places....and is it affordable and how well would it work? At RV parks I've seen some sit beside dishes which seem to be Dish....and am wondering if Direct TV also has something? My dream? That somebody would offer a plan where by I could get satelite TV and possibly Internet at home, at my cabin, and in my RV when I am traveling? What do you think? Is this possible? I would appreciate any thoughts you might have on my dream!Exterior Trimark RV Lock failureI have a 2014 Leisure Unity and the exterior lock failed recently? It is the regular latch not the deadbolt which doesn't fully retract and keeps the door from opening. It has a Trimark #060-1650 lock on it which is available at Camping World for about a hundred bucks. A little Internet searching reveals many complaints about the Trimark locks, and I'm thinking that they did a re-design with this model being the latest version. From what I can tell I think I may have the latest version, but this rig is only 3 years old and I only use it a couple of months a year..so why would it fail already? I did open up the lock and found a small, white plastic piece which seemed to be the problem as it sometimes keeps the throw bolt from working properly. Does anyone have any experiences with this problem, with the Trimark replacement locks from Camping World, and from their so called re-design? Is this new re-design any better? Thanks for any guidance you can provide! Also, is anyone aware of any other brand of replacement lock that would fit without any modifications? I've emailed LTV recently about the problem and am waiting to hear back from them. Any comments on your own experiences would be appreciated.Noisy Dometic Air ConditionerI've had a 2014 Unity by Leisure since it was new and have always thought the low profile Model 651916 Dometic A.C. was awfully noisy! I mentioned it to the dealer (La Mesa RV) while it was still under warranty and he laughed and said they all are noisy! Well I don't think so!! I took off the inside the coach trim and have found about 1/16" play in the blower's squirrel cage and am thinking this might be the problem? What do you think? I am on the road and not able to get up on the roof to investigate further topside....and unfortunately it looks like it takes a very long Allen wrench to reach the set screw holding the blower to the shaft...which I also do not have with me! Has anyone faced a similar noise problem and do you have any suggestions or encouraging words? BTW, I have run the fan only without the AC and it is still noisy! SnoopRe: Anyone having DEF fluid problems in a MB diesel RV?I have a 2014 Leisure travel van with the same MB Sprinter engine and also got my first low Def fluid warning around 4000 miles or so. I added fluid and no problem. Around 5000 Miles a check engine light came on which was related to the emissions system. A MB DEALER checked it out and reported some kind of sensor needed replacing. It was well under warranty and I'm keeping my fingers crossed! If the government in their infinite wisdom didn't require all that******on the engines we'd get better mileage and have a lot more power! BTW, I add DEF fluid from Walmart, and appreciate the tip to keep the reservoir topped off! Might save some grief later?Re: Mercedes Sprinter dually tire pressureWell, the deed that started this whole topic string is done folks.....I had the six steel valve stems I got from Bill installed 2 days ago at my local small town tire shop. All considering it went fairly well...with me hovering nearby to observe and kibitz from time to time. I did all six tires and surprisingly the front gave the most trouble because the ones provided with the kit were really too short to adequately clear the hub cap...and they also needed some bending to keep from touching the wheel cover. They are still closer to the wheel cover than I would have liked, but hopefully it won't be a problem? Luckily I had also ordered six of the little 3/4" flow thru caps and that just made the new stems long enough to easily get a gauge on them. The rear dual wheel installations actually went in the best with a little bit of bending necessary which the shop tried when I showed them Bill's installation sheet. We'll see how they perform on the road and with a little time on them....I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Thanks to all who posted and gave me the benefit of your experience! Snoop PS: I do have a question about tire pressure? The tire shop recommended 80PSI, and the door jamb tag says 61PSI on all six tires. I probably carry only about 4 or 5 hundred pounds of weight in the RV which includes myself and am inclined to inflate my tires to the 61 PSI figure. Any suggestions?Re: Mercedes Sprinter dually tire pressureWell I hope so jd! I can't imagine why they wouldn't make it correctly with no need to bend the stem? I mean what's the use buying something custom made for my application if it then has to be altered? I will let everyone know how the installation goes when I get around to taking my rig in! Thank you all for sharing your experiences and opinions on this topic. SnoopRe: Mercedes Sprinter dually tire pressureThanks for all the advice....it is greatly appreciated! I have ordered a full set of 6 metal valves from Bill @duallyvalves.com and have a local tire shop who says they do work on Rvs all the time and will charge ten dollars a wheel to change out the stems! So this anal fixation of mine to be able to easily check my tire pressures will cost me about $200, but money well spent IMO if it works? I also ordered the flow thru caps to get out a little further beyond the damned wheel covers! Lol My only remaining concern is that Bill told me that some bending of the stems might be necessary? Well I guess time will tell if my local shop is up to it? SnoopRe: Mercedes Sprinter dually tire pressureWow, lots of great feedback from my original post! Thanks all who took the time to respond!! I am now leaning more toward replacing the stems rather than a TPMS that screws onto existing valves I presume? I have several questions about the steel replacement stems...when I talked to a lady selling the duallyvalve product she said the inside tire straight valve stem was 7" long. Well, I measured the distance from the steel wheel to the aluminum wheel cover and it was just 7" long also. That seems to me to be cutting it awfully close. She mentioned that there was a "double seal flow-thru valve cap" that they also sold which would bring it out another 3/4" or so, which might be just enough? I think maybe one of your posts mentioned this type of valve cap. So bottom line...are my fears about not getting out beyond the wheel cover justified? I am also a little skeptical about the outer dually tire as it seems the new metal stem if I buy them would have to make an almost 180 degree turn to get back outside of the wheel cover? Am I missing something here? I guess they wouldn't sell them if they couldn't do the job but they sure don't look like they would work! LOL I can just get to my front rubber valve stems with the wheel cover on so don't feel they need replacing, but it wouldn't cost much to go ahead and have them all done if that is the route I take. Several of you seemed to have doubts with all rubber valve stems. BTW, the lady I talked to said the inner rear valve stem probably had an extension on it to get it out to the approx. 4" it is now. I didn't think so, but upon inspection she was correct....a 2" extension was on it presumably from the Mercedes factory.
