Want to replace with same item even though it's very old but we love the concept. Called RV Tech and he stated that we should not be looking at same item because it is obsolete. It's a Sharp R-820bk micro/convection. Can still locate but cost is a little ridiculous. Do you think we are crazy to want to replace with same or to look at other models. Is one hard to install? Or can we just pull this one out and replace with one either identical or with right size specifications.WE HAVE A WASP PROBLEMWe own a 2003 Class C Four Winds 5000. About a month ago, we had the RV home in our driveway to clean it and get it ready to store at a location nearby. I turned the furnace on and immediatly black smoke and soot came pouring out of the vent and our carbon monoxide detector went off. I turned furnace off, and proceeded to try and clear the vent with a wire hangar. I got a couple pieces of mud wasp nests, but couldn't get all of it. Today I had RV tech come by to service it. He found many more wasp nests in the combustion chamber. I told him I was planning on purchasing a screen for that opening and he was told by the manufacturer of my furnace which is an Atwood 8500-IV with door, not to attach a screen over the vent. What are your thoughts about my wasp problem and any suggestions as to what I should do about the opening, or do you think the screen is the way to go. Thank youwinterizing motorhomeI have a 2003 Four Winds 5000 28 ft. Is there an easy way to temporally winterize my coach. We're going to experience 2 days of freezing temperatures. My owner's manual states there are low point drain shutoffs at the low point. How do I locate them. Called Thor and they are on vacation until January sometime due to the weather. Thank youwhat type of tow bar to usePurchased 2003 Four Winds 5000 29'. Love the RV. Just camped for a week without a car. Never towed one before so thought I'd ask other campers. Started asking questions at this campground and was shocked and surprised by the answers that at least 20 people told me. We own a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx. We we told by all the campers that we cannot tow this car because it doesn't have a manual transmission. I thought all cars could be towed. So does this mean that every RV I see towing a car, made sure they had a car with manual transmission to tow. I find that hard to believe. Now here's my question. Is there a tow bar that is suited for front wheel drive cars? Or do I need to call Thor and ask them what they recommend? We were thinking of a tow dolly like U-haul has, but I think the weight of that would be too much. Thanks MichaelRe: furnace exhaustThanks for all the input. I definitely will run the furnace for a few minutes, and if it doesn't clear, I'll shut it down and get it serviced. We already have an electric heater that we intend to use.furnace exhaustOur Class C does not get run all the time, however, we brought it home a few days ago to pack it up for our trip in a few days. We turned the propane furnace on and noticed black soot coming out of the exhaust on outside of motorhome. If we are camping and turn the furnace on for a while, will the black soot clears itself up or is there another problem. What can we do to eliminate the problemRe: fuel line issuesCurious!! What kind of mileage do you get with your Class C. We get about 10 miles.Re: fuel line issuesOther than mothballs thrown under rv when stored, is there an animal repellant that can be sprayed on the gas lines, etc?Re: fuel line issuesChevy Chassisfuel line issuesOwn 2003 Four Winds 5000 28a. Went camping last month. Pulled into lot to use swimming pool. When exiting the rig, I noticed gas coming out all over. Used the ever famous duck tape and drove to an rv mechanic. He said the fuel line blew, had part, fixed it and away we went. Said it is very likely that a squirrel, or some rodent ate through the line. Two days ago, went to where we have rv stored, with intention of taking to my rv mechanic to seal leak in window which he did 3 months ago. While traveling there, same thing happened. Gas was everywhere. However, I was able to drive to the rv place because it was so close to where we store the rv. He is now replacing the fuel line part above the gas tank. Question. Is it possible that a squirrel or rodent could be doing that? I have been putting mothballs under the rig which was suggested to me. Why don't they provide copper or some kind of metal for the fuel line if a rodent is causing that problem. I will state that we purchased this 2003 one year ago, and could it be possible that the fuel line was on the border of blowing? Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated. We love our Class C and already are booked to go next week and camp at a state park for 10 days. Michael
