The reason is if you read the fine print (I read mine last night) it says using the 12v plug will only produce 100 watts of power. You will need to run 6 gauge wire directly from the battery to the inverter. Then you should be good to go. I was using my inverter plugged into my 12v outlet in my pervious TT with no problems running the LED tv and DVD player.Installing an inverter to run my TV and DVD playerMy new keystone Outback 210trs is great but it doesn't have any 12v outlets next to the "entertainment" area to plug an inverter in to run my tv and dvd player. I'm looking for a simple (i hope) fix to get a 12v outlet or inverter installed here. There is a power switch for the antenna with a coaxial cable connection there. I had a similar switch on my last trailer but it had a 12v outlet too and I plugged my inverter into that to run the tv. Any help or direction would be very much appreciated. I need to stay less than 25' because of my parking situation at my house.... its tight. thanksLooking into getting a class C motorhomeHey all, Well my family and I are looking into purchasing a motorhome. We have a travel trailer now, but the wife likes the idea of getting a motorhome. Was going to go with a new truck and cabover camper but if we sell the trailer she wants a motorhome. I'm looking for advice. We are on a budget and will be getting a loan. I'm trying to get the best bang for my buck, just like anyone. What should should I stay away from? What should I look for? What make and model should I look into? Thanks for all your help in advance! AaronRe: Lance 855s on a Sierra 2500thanks for all the input..... you've re=confirmed my original thoughts.... sell my truck and upgrade to an HD or 3500...... gotta do what i gotta do. Thanks!Re: Lance 855s on a Sierra 2500 SugarHillCTD wrote: Have you ever had a really heavy load (1-1/2 to 2 tons) in your pickup? It is a real eye-opener That is going to be your first challenge- getting used to driving it with a heavy camper. Can your truck do it? With enough mods to suspension and wheels/tires you will be able to carry it. Are you going to be reasonably comfortable at the wheel? That is the unknown. Well, I have driven really big, red, vehicles with 500-1500 gallons of water in them on windy, country roads. Also I have been towing the trailer. I'll adjust my driving to the load I'm carrying. My biggest concern is overloading it to the point that it is not safe.Re: Lance 855s on a Sierra 2500 SugarHillCTD wrote: Just recently traded in our 855s for an Eagle Cap 850. We had it on our 2012 Chevy 2500HD If you have the usual 3200# rated E tires, you will be very close to their limit or likely over it- NOT good. We had 4000# rated tires mounted on OEM steel wheels plus Timbrens and a BigWig anti-swaybar. The 855s is HEAVY. Count on over 4000# loaded. I don't have a HD..... My thoughts are to remove the lift, and get higher weight rated wheels/tires....... I'm installing air lift airbags/compressor and will install all the tie downs when I get the camper.... With those modifications to the truck do you think the 855s will be to much for it to handle. I like the 855s because of the slide for a little extra space (family of 4). Thanks again!Re: Lance 855s on a Sierra 2500 billtex wrote: The truck is fine. The 4" lift is not going to help. What's with the 17" wheels? Are thse bling wheels...what happened to the 16" OE's? B Moto metal wheels...... they came with the truck when i purchased it. Same with the lift. I originally bought the truck for towing my travel trailer, which it does fine. Thanks!
