I was gone for 3 days for the birth of my great grand daughter, Rylee, and she and mother are doing great- babies are really tiny even though she is 8 lbs 4 oz. I called the service dept at Broadmoor RV in Pasco, Wa, and Alfredo told me to fill the bypass hose with water, turn on the water pump, and blow. I did it several times and felt like something released, maybe a seal ?? Anyway did it the third time and stuck the hose in the antifreeze and it drew it in, so I went ahead and winterized all faucets and p-traps. So the pump did need to be primed. Glad I did not order a new one. Thanks for all the suggestions.Re: Winterizing Arctic Fox 990I tried the shop vac on the end of the kitchen faucet with no luck. Called Northwood and talked with Dave - and he said if no suction on bypass hose then probably a bad water pump. Can't do it today but will take it off tomorrow and try sucking out of the fresh water tank to see if an obstruction. Hard to believe the water pump is bad as I have only used it several times, as at campgrounds always under their pressure so no need for the pump.Re: Winterizing Arctic Fox 990So I have added about 9 gallons of water to the fresh water tank and still no draw from the water pump. I have turned the bypass valve from the water tank to the antifreeze jug - no draw. I have turned the water heater bypass valve both ways - no draw. I have opened up different faucets and still no draw. I have not taken off the screen to the kitchen sink faucet , but will try that. How do you use a shop vac at the kitchen faucet ? Tomorrow morning I will call the Northwood tech in La Grande to see if he can help. The pump is getting power because you can hear it, but no draw from either fresh water tank or antifreeze jug. I have the camper plugged in to 15 amp power, but either the power source or the batteries should power the pump - and they do as I can hear the pump. A little frustrating. Probably something very simple. Thanks for the suggestions so far.Winterizing Arctic Fox 990I am having trouble winterizing my AF 990. We drove to Alaska in September and stayed at campgrounds the whole way so also used pressurized water and my fresh water tank was always empty. I am now trying to put the antifreeze into my water lines and the water pump will not draw the antifreeze out of the gallon container. I have checked all the faucets and they are all closed,as are the low point hot and cold water drains, and I am now wondering if I need to pout some water in the fresh water tank to prime the water pump. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same issue. Coming back across the Yukon with the fall colors was absolutely spectacular. Thanks for your help.Re: Fox landing measurementsThank you so much Wyocowboy00 for posting that information. Exactly what I was looking for.Fox landing measurementsI have a 2011 AF 990 which we will be taking to Alaska this summer, and currently have the little giant step ladder, which is fine for me, but my wife's agility concerns me. So I have been looking at the Fox Landing, and have been in contact with a dealer in eastern Washington. What I am looking for is the measurement in inches from the top of the Fox landing to the top of the 1st step down, and then the measurement form the top of the 1st step down to the top of the 2nd step down. Could someone who has the Fox Landing measure this for me. Also I have the existing fold down step attached to the bumper. Can that attach to the Fox Landing step system ? With a small step stool on the ground and the roof ladder on the AF 990, my wife will hopefully have a much easier and safer access. Thanks in advance for any help.Re: scissor stairswnjj and tonymull - do you know what the height off the ground the top step is of your Little Giant Safety Step step ladder ? On the 3 step unit the spec's say 44" and on the 4 step unit the spec is 56" The spec says this is the stepladder height, so is that the height off the ground to the top step ? Also I am assuming that you both fold down the safety bar. Thanks for your response.Re: scissor stairsAbout a month ago we bought out 2005 Dodge dually, 3500. And then last week we picked up a hardly used 2011 AF 990. From the bottom of the door to the ground is 48". From the floor level of the camper to the top of the bumper step is 14 1/2 " and then the swing out single step. No two steps are the same rise. So I am trying also to figure out what we are going to do. I have no problem, but I am concerned for my wife safely getting in and out. We had stable loads installed at Torklift, and only briefly looked at the Glow Steps - but the brief looked left me with the feeling of not to stable. As our AF was manufactured in April of 2011, it does not have the new bumper, capable of taking the Fox Landing. I would like to install the basement step, to reduce the 14 1/2" step out of the camper, and then install the Fox landing - but don't know about attaching the Fox landing to the old bumper. Everything is so ridiculously expensive - that I am looking at any options. Thankful for the forum to see what others are doing. Any suggestions would be welcome.Re: Have a truck - suspension questionsI have a long bed 2005 Dodge 4 x 4. I might need to reconsider the camper based on GVW. It will only be my wife and myself and we like the layout of the AF 990, but will certainly consider others. I can't tell by some of your profile pictures, but it looks like there are some short bed dually's - maybe a visual illusion on my part.Re: Have a truck - suspension questionsIn both cases of the campers, the AF 990 and the EC 950, I am looking for used campers from about 2005 - 2012.
