Thanks for the information. Thanks, John and LindaMost Satisfactory Roadside AssistancwWe currently have Good Sam Roadside Assistance and are thinking of switching to FMCA Roadside Assistance. Does anyone have any experience with FMCA assistance and how would you rate and compare it to Good Sam's assistance plan?LED LightsWe have a 2008 990 Artic Fox. We would like to change out the overhead lights with LED lights in the camper. Has anyone done this and if so, what LEDs do you recommend and where is the best place to purchase them. Thanks, jonlinSolar Power ?We have a 2009 Phaeton with a Cummings diesel. It has six 6 volt house batteries. The motorhome has a 2000 watt inverter and has a large residential frig. We did a lot of dry camping last winter in Key West and everything worked good as long as we ran the generator a couple hours in both the morning and evening. We would love to cut down on generator use, so how much solar would I need to keep the batteries charged with solar and very minimum use of the generator? I know we have other items drawing on the batteries; however, I think the largest is the inverter and frig. We saw several people who had invested in lithium batteries and swear by them? If we switched our six wet cells to lithium and used solar to charge them, would we gain anything other than a lighter billfold??? Thanks for the info.... Johnbattery chargingWe are staying in a campground that has no hookups, therefore we are having to run on our batteries. We have an 09 40' Phaeton with a commercial frig with 6 house batteries. No problem with charging the batteries with the house generator; however, when I try and charge the batteries with a 2000 Honda the batteries will not charge. I have tried running the Honda through a ground fault and it gives me a caution when flashing indication. The ground fault was working properly last week when we had the coach plugged into a 110 outlet. I also removed the ground fault and hooked the coach straight to the Honda and the system status in the coach would still show inverting. Questions: 1) Is a Honda 2000 big enough to charge the batteries on a coach this size? 2) blown fuse somewhere? I have checked the reset on the Honda. Thank You! JohnRe: generator chargingIt could be that your transfer switch is stuck. How many hours on your generator? We have 492 hours on the generator...generator chargingWe have a 09 Tiffin Phaeton. The last couple times we have been boondocking, when running the generator, the status system is showing that the system is inverting rather than charging. Why would the system be inverting rather than charging with the generator running? Thanks, JohnTow BarsWe have a Phaeton motorhome and are purchasing a tow bar to pull our Honda CRV. The RV dealer we use for maintenance sells and recommends the Ready Brute Tow Bar. In the pamphlet for the tow bar it states, " The Ready Brute Elite is a multi-purpose aluminum toe bar that has our patented Ready Brake supplemental brake system integrated into the head of it". My understanding is it works like surge brakes. If this is true, would traveling in mountains present a problem with the brakes releasing when going down hill? Does anyone use this type tow bar and what has your experience been? Thanks for your reply, JohnExtended Warranty InsuranceWe purchased a 2009 Tifin Phaeton in June which had an extended warranty through September 2017. We are interested in purchasing another warranty to cover the motorhome and would like to hear recommendations from others on warranties they have purchased and what items they would recommend to be covered .
