The original repair shop refused to fix the issue, since it was outside of warranty, even though it was never right from the beginning. I went to another shop and they diagnosed the problem as a bent worm gear, Kwikee #902202101, now owned by Lippert. I called them and they said they dont sell the gear shaft separately, but would sell me the whole assembly for a discount $1500, lol! So they gave me specs and so did the 2nd repair shop and I am trying to figure out how to pull this gear shaft and then hopefully take it down to a machine shop and have them bend it back straight. I've been scouring youtube for a good video showing the replacement of this assembly and havent found one. Anyone know of any?Slide motor making clicking soundGreetings, I have a 2006 Winnebago Outlook that the slide motor failed and was replaced under an extended warranty I bought. The service place I took it to said the motor and actuator arm had to be replaced together ($2500!) and the warranty company authorized the replacement. When I got it back they showed me the slide working, and it made a ticking noise during out and in. Worked fine, but just had a noise where it didn't use to have a noise prior to completely failing. Their technician told me that after I actuate it a few times worm drive should lubricate itself and the noise should go away. After 10 recycles, the noise is the same. I took it back in and they said that it appears to be working properly but the motor has a wobble to it. Should the slide motor wobble like the video link shows? Thanks All!Re: Do electric RV steps work off of shore power if plugged in?Chassis batter, not house battery?Do electric RV steps work off of shore power if plugged in?I know this is a silly question. Prior to a trip last year my step motor was humming like it was getting power but the step lamp was barely lit and the steps would not extend or retract. I was plugged in to shore power at the time and know my batteries were pretty weak. Do steps work off of shore power if plugged in? I disconnect the power from the step/lamp and tried to manually retract the steps but couldn't. So I tried to remove the pin that was keeping them from retracting and have subsequently jammed it! Yea, not a mechanic.Re: 2006 Winnebago Outlook / E450 Cab AC issueSo to be clear, are you thinking that the previous work done, which resolved the AC going through the defrost vents under load, is now just not closing the vent to the outside air during max AC? I would love to have supporting evidence that their prior worked failed and they should fix it as a warranty item (albeit a year is probably longer than the warranty, just not sure). I am not very mechanically inclined but love the pics from your fix on the other site.2006 Winnebago Outlook / E450 Cab AC issueGreetings, Resurrecting the RV from 6 months hiatus and noticed an issue. Cab AC blows ice cold on Normal AC and about ambient temperature on Max AC. I had taken it to Ford about 2 years ago for an issue where it blew cold out the defrost vents when under load, like climbing a hill. They fixed it by rerouting the HVAC vacuum reservoir box (said by rerouting it I save 20 hours labor). This worked fine for the first year. Now it's cold on normal AC but just cool on Max AC. Doesn't ever switch to defrost vent like it did before. Called the same Ford tech and he said that didn't make sense. Said it could be dried out seals on the compressor, or Freon leak, or even some high/low sensor. I just don't think it's a major issue since the normal AC works and don't want to be railroaded into swapping out expensive parts to fix a minor issue. Ideas?Re: 2006 Winnebago Outlook Flashing gas indicator on fridgeYea, but why would refueling it appear to fix the issues if it was an ignitor issue?2006 Winnebago Outlook Flashing gas indicator on fridgeGreetings, Last trip out, toward the end, the light on the fridge that indicates its running on gas started flashing and the fridge was warming up. Stove still lit fine. Led panel said I had a 1/3 LP left. Gauge on LP tank said 1/2. Fill up the tank, which I suspect is 7-20 gals and it only took 3 gals. Flashing light stopped. Does this sound like a faulty meter? Should it flash at a 1/2 tank? Confused.Re: Sketchy issueUnless the choke assembly is kept in place by he air cleaner, I didn't loosen it. Awaiting the repair quote.
