Re: cummins "53"thanks for the response, I am going out this morning to check it out, this motorhome has 89,000 miles on it, i'll see what it looks like ...cummins "53"im thinking of buying an 2001 holiday rambler endeavor with the cummins motor, does anybody know if the motor used is the "53" block which seems to be a bad issue (cracked blocks) in dodge trucks, wondering if its a concern in motorhomes also. Thanks, TomRe: registrationactually it was a non issue, seller changed from his fathers name from New Jersey to his name in calif and smogged it this morning , I went to look at it, it was slightly worn more than I wanted overall, BUT , when I lifted the dog house, lots of pellets of I guess mice poop , on the transmission and the intake manifold, but what was worse was the rust everywhere, the manifold and throttle body tubes (?) it had banks headers which were rusty, the original shocks and suspension and muffler was rusty, I laid on the ground to look under the body and suspension , just look too rusty for me. I was concerned that the mice might be chewing on wires that you can't see also . we'll just keep looking !registrationThis topic has been moved to another forum. You can read it here: 29845224registrationim in calif, im looking to buy a Fleetwood class a that's in calif, 3 hours from here, BUT, the motorhome is still registered in New Jersey, for this year, my question is, the calif smog emission stickers needed from the factory, what would have to be done to register it in calif , besides having to pass smog, it might cost a bit of money to transfer to calif specs, any ideas? , Thanksoil changeWhat is the average cost oil change and filters on a diesel class a?fleetwood # 53 problemslooking at a 2000 Fleetwood discovery, I've read about the #53 motor block cracking and leaking, but what I've read mostly in dodge trucks-- is it the same motor block as motorhomes? i'm guessing it's the same either truck or motorhome. the bandaid is the stitch/weld, but it's still thin material, will crack again. the solution is to get a new block! any ideas ? thankswinnie vs. holiday ramblerok folks, lets see the what people think. I have 2 options, 1 is a 01 Holiday Rambler Ambassador, 34 ft. diesel , stored inside , 55,000 miles, separate pooper, good condition ,, or 02 Winnie Journey 32' diesel, stored inside, 34,000 miles , pooper in shower area, good condition, journey is a few thousand dollars more, not gonna say how much each are. no need to discuss dollars, they're in an acceptable price range, different parts of U.S. seem to vary in prices. Anyway, is there a big difference in quality or am I thinking to hard? Thanks
