If your Bounder has the round tubes at grill, others have suggested removing the end caps and place sand in them to deaden the sound.Re: New FlooringLooks great jplante4, I installed the locking no glue vinyl allure floororing last fall with great results. Went thru a Maryland winter of twenty degrees. No heat in RV, with no seperations of the planking, except one plank. Upon removing the plank I found a small stone I must of tracked in and missed on installation. Once again great job and hope you will be happy, I know we are very satisfied with the upgradeRe: rv antennaAlso check all your connections. I had the same problem and found a bad connection inside the ceiling, where you cranked up the antenna. They had used a coupler to connect from antenna to inside cable. The actual cable inside the coupler had broken off. Corrected this and received the channels I should have been receiving.Re: Carpet Out, New Allure Vinyl Plank Floor Installed (Pics.) dtgunner7 wrote: Did you have to glue the material down, emailed Manufacturer and they said to glue down No glue needed, this is an interlocking floor that snaps together, and then floats as it expands. Home Depot Trafficmaster Flooring There are several types sold: one peel and stick, one with a glue surface on the edges that lock together, and the one I used that you angle into place / pushing down causing it lock in place. I know the manufacturer doesn't recommend it for rv installation because of the temperature swing, but I must of read hundreds of posts on the flooring and decided to go with it. As far as your pm question concerning adjusting the slide, to be honest I spent three days of trial and error. I marked my original settings and then made small adjustments both ways to see which provided better clearance and operations of climbing the hill. I posted these pictures in another thread concerning if anyone knew how to adjust my slide Slide Adjustment? I believe I have the slide working properly now, but I'm sure a professional could get the sled that slides on the runners I place down when it tips forward two thirds in could kept it off the floor. I will pm you what little pictures I took of the actual install.Re: Carpet Out, New Allure Vinyl Plank Floor Installed (Pics.) jsmart wrote: Very nice job, do you have a slide out? If you do, does it cause issues when you pull it in. I ask because we have very slight marks on our existing carpet where the slide out rolls in/out. Yes I have both kinds of slides in the area of the floor. The slide that floats over the floor and is raised there are no issues. The flush or flat floor slide is a whole different story, one of the reasons I picked this floor was how thin it is (but is very sturdy). My carpet was always compressed. I made adjustments on the slide and actually found a corner of the slide floor had come loose. I installed the matching t-molding at the two inch piece of carpet I left for where the floor meets under the slide. The slide now rides over that and about two thirds ways in tilts forward, which would cause the sled to ride along the floor. To prevent any damage I took five pieces of the flooring and I lay them down parallel evenly space down the slide so it rides on them. Once the slide is totally in I could actually remove them if I wanted to, but would have to place them back down to run the slide out. The slide doesn't damage the slide runners (planks) but I just don't want to take a chance on the floor. I'm sure a professional could adjust the slide so it wouldn't touch at all, something I might look into. Right now the slide has never worked better with the adjustment I made, climbs right up the hill with good power.Re: Carpet Out, New Allure Vinyl Plank Floor Installed (Pics.)Thanks everyone, I think it really updates the RV, plus so much cleaner looking. "Sea of no Cares" we have a two week vacation planned in October, can't waitCarpet Out, New Allure Vinyl Plank Floor Installed (Pics.)Just completed installing Trafficmaster interlocking plank flooring, except for adding the quarter round. We really like the look it provides to the RV, wife hated the carpet. The Allure flooring wasn't my first choice but with limitations on the flat floor slide clearance height when retracted it was the best solution. Reading all the tips on here and pros/cons we are very happy how it came out. The product was easy to work with, cutting with razor knife and snapping. Before After Doghouse transition (doubled over piece of carpet to hide where floor meets lip of doghouse Stairwell - one of the tips from other posts was to oversize the holes to flooring and add padding to anything bolted down (seats/trim/cabinet) in hope that floor still expands and floats Re: Help Adjusting Slide Height (pic)After a little investigation this morning I found the corner of the outer metal floor was loose and was causing low clearance on one side. Still need to adjust height but when the slide is closed the clearance is great in the back, but decreases going forward because of a tilt. Once the slide is engaged to travel out it tilts forward even more for half way thru then rocks back before it descends down the hill.Re: Help Adjusting Slide Height (pic)timmac thanks, I hope there's a way to raise it because even with the carpet it was compressing it. There's plenty of space at the top for it to be raised and for there to be only a 1/8 space at the bottom no flooring thickness is going to work without rubbing the surface of the floorRe: Help Adjusting Slide Height (pic) SoCalDesertRider wrote: Just from looking at the pic and reading your description, it appears the height adjustments are the set bolt on the left, and the slotted holes on the right. I would have to guess that raising both ends of that bar, and it's mate on the other side, would accomplish what you want, which is to raise the whole slide, if I understand right. Thanks SoDesertRider, I have adjusted the swivel bolt on the left up and down with no results. maybe I haven't hit the right combination between the adjustable sections.
