I would strongly suggest if anyone is getting one installed to have them wrap the exhaust BEFORE they install it. The floor boards in most of the E450 is hot enough as it is, but after you install the Banks it gets hotter. I re-insulated the dog house and under the carpets and will pick it up tomorrow after having a mechanic friend wrap all the exhaust (he could reach) back to the Cat Converter. Almost impossible to get to all the exhaust manifold pieces once installed.Re: Banks Power exhaust systemJust came back from a 5000 mile trip and it worked great. NO problem going up super steep hills. Usually dropped one gear and then did great. 2006 Forest River Lexington 283 GTS 29' towing a Toyota Camry.how to secure kitchen table seat cushionsHow do you experienced RV'rs secure your seat cushions at the kitchen table so they don't move yet are easily moveable for cleaning and getting to the storage area's underneath. I've tried velcro but the glue isn't strong enough and it pulls free from the plywood frame.Re: Extended Service Plan Cancellation ostbob wrote: NOT A HAPPY CAMPER We had a blown tire and waited until we got home to send in the paper work to get reimbursed. Now I've called to cancel the policy and they said they can't cancel our policy because THEY HAVEN'T SENT US OUR CHECK YET! So you must keep paying monthly until they decide to send you your check. This doesn't' seem legal to me. The only thing that matters is that we were current and covered on the date of the claim. This program is sold with the promise that you can cancel at anytime, and I think I saw something about it might be prorated, but nothing about this issue. I have requested to speak to a supervisor so we'll see what happens. Supervisor called and said there was a misunderstanding. You can cancel before they write the check but not before they fully investigate the claims you've made. If you cancel before the claim is closed then you don't have a policy and your claim is closed also. close your claim to early and you won't be reimbursed. I appreciate them calling and watching this forum but both customer service people I talked to made it clear that I couldn't cancel until they wrote us a check. More training is needed for the CSR for sure. I have since received reimbursement for a blown tire. Also was reminded that they don't pay for mobile RV repair SERVICE charges. Something to consider. Our guy repaired the RV next to us then ours and still charged us a $100 service charge. My local guy at home only charges $35..Re: Extended Service Plan CancellationNOT A HAPPY CAMPER We had a blown tire and waited until we got home to send in the paper work to get reimbursed. Not once did it search for gears going up hills. Banks says their system is designed to run on 87 octane and that's what we use anyway. No problem doing 55 mph up 6% grades and getting anywhere from 5- 8.5 mph depending on how many hills . All while driving a 29' class C and towing a Toyota Camry.Re: Banks Power exhaust systemShould receive the 5 star today and they said it has an 87 octane choice when setting it up. Won't be able to give an update on how it works until we get to a place that has internet in a few days. There will be some good hills between here and where were heading so a great test of the system.Re: Banks Power exhaust systemHave the 5 star ordered and should be here tomorrow. Just in time for our 5000+ mile trip to Yellowstone etc. If I remember when I return I will update this posting with how it performed.Re: Banks Power exhaust systemWhat I have is a 2006 Forest River Lexington 283 GTS with the E450 chassis and the V10 engine. When I hear back from Banks I will post an update. I think I need to check on the 5 star and see if that does anything to the shifting.Re: Banks Power exhaust systemBagman, do you know if you have the Automind tuner or similar programming? Or do they need to install a tuner of some type when ever they install a complete system. I read where the Automind can be added and will help with the shifting issues going up steep hills.
