It happened at Council Road RV Park in Oklahoma City. I just checked in and paid for a 4 night stay. The owner then immediately kicked me out of the park when he saw me using a multimeter to test the electrical panel at my site! (who doesn’t check park power before plugging in?)He then called the police (gave me no chance to explain myself) and threatened to have me arrested ! I basically drove out under police escort- it was terrible and humiliating to be treated like a criminal. Owner CLAIMS my debit card was refunded, but I still haven’t seen the money. I’m over the money, and name calling, and at the point of warning others. I’ve posted brutal reviews on google and yelp. RV Park Reviews won’t post my review because I didn’t “stay overnight “ (how useless is that?). Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? Who else can I tell my story to? Local Better Business Bureau? I fully expect to be attacked for posting this; if the owners side of the story is that important then CALL HIM or SEND HIM AN EMAIL. I would love to hear a reasonable version of this harassment!1987 P30 radiatorSo I'm restoring a 1987 Establishment RV on a P30 chassis. My next big project is to replace the radiator(you have to trust me that it's my best option). Once I have the radiator off I intend to do lots of preventative maintenance including: -new fan clutch -new thermostat -new water pump -replace all radiator and heater hoses -replace all belts The question is then-What else should I do in terms of preventative maintenance while I have easy access to the wild beast? foot notes: 61,000 miles(i believe this is considered low mileage) -previous owner DID NOT take care of the engine -other than slight cooling issues, engine ran flawlessly on a recent trip from Austin to St. Louis and back -454 with a quadrajet carbpropane gauge not workingI have a typical ASME propane tank under my rig, and the gauge suddenly stopped working. It was 3/4 full at last check. It is an old needle gauge in the dash(1987). I push a button when the key is in the ignition and the needle jumps to current propane level. Starting today nothing happens! What is the most common cause of this? Switch, gauge, or sending device? Also, I replaced the regulator this March.courtesy and boost buttonsI'm new to the world of RVs(I recently took on a 1987 Establishment as an affordable way to live through nursing school)-I'm still at the stage of wondering "What does that button do?" So on that subject, I have two buttons in the drivers dash area called 'courtesy' and 'boost'. What do they do?? :D2 air ports near front drivers side tire?Curious about two air valves near my front drivers tire, I know the lower one is for my driver side air bag. (The passenger side has its own valve) What could the upper one be for? -the hose goes straight through the floor and disappears under the drivers area carpet. The label only says 90 psi It is a 1987 Establishment on a P30 chassis I tried to attached a photo-but don't know how!!Re: 1987 Establishment P30 starts but dies in idleUPDATE: I have my ship back! In the end, I broke down and got a new carburetor from NAPA, and it runs great. I had a local old-school mechanic put the new one in for me. In the final analysis, I had a bad in tank fuel pump and a clogged 30 year old carburetor. How could both happen at the same time? Maybe the failed fuel pump sent a bunch of garbage to the carb? Anyway, I'm thinking about putting in one of those fuel filter/water separators like this one http://www.dutton-lainson.com/proddetail.php?prod=56591 Any thoughts? I'm just looking for ways to keep things as clean as possible. Also, I need to change the oil. How much oil and what type does a 7.4L 454 V8 take? (the dipstick says 10W-30)need to patch my black tankI accidentally drilled a hole in my black tank! What do you suggest for a patch? It's only a 1/4" hole. I'm sure there is a thread covering this somewhere, but I can't find one.Re: 1987 Establishment P30 starts but dies in idleI've noticed my single air door on my carb stays wide open all the time-right down to idle. That can't be right can it?Re: 1987 Establishment P30 starts but dies in idle PaulJ2 wrote: My guess also is dirt in the idle circuit. One more thing I didn't see Wes cover. Make sure the idle-stop solenoid is working on the carb. The throttle linkage rests against this while idleing with the key on. Retracts with key off further closing the throttle to prevent dieseling. I found the idle stop solenoid and it's not even wired! It's as if the previous owner by-passed it. I guess I'll have to dig for a wiring diagram............Re: 1987 Establishment P30 starts but dies in idleIt's going to take a while for me to work through all the vacuum lines(I managed to find a diagram)-I'm noticing that several lines run to the fuel canister(vapor canister?). Could there be troubles in the canister?
