Winnebago Itasca Full Wall Slide Failure
We own a 35 foot 2014 Itasca Suncruiser that we bought new 2 years ago. Six months after purchase the full wall slide out would not fully close on the lower rear corner. We took it to a dealer about 90 miles from home. They said that the Schwintek motors were bad which caused the slide to go out crooked and bind up. When we picked it up a couple weeks later we were told several times that we must be absolutely certain that the motor home is level before putting the slides out. (Something we have always done, even before their warning.) The slides have been fine for the past 18 months. After a 6 week trip to the southwest US, we arrived home late Thursday evening. Friday morning we went out, leveled up, deployed the two small slides, and pushed the switch for the large slide. It started to go out at the front, but the back was not moving. Quickly let off switch, brought it back in, and then tried again. It went out at the front, and out at the bottom rear, but not at all at the top rear. It will now not go in at all on the bottom rear and is sticking out about 5". We have tried pushing and pulling, but it is totally jammed. I called the dealer who did the work 18 months ago. He said they will gladly do the work again and encouraged me to call Winnebago Customer Service to ask about it being paid for by the company, since it is out of warranty. Jake with Winnebago was kind, sympathetic and apologetic. He also told me that the company will stand behind it and pay for the repair again. Unfortunately, he also said that the repair will be made using the exact same motor. As many problems and issues they have had, I am just amazed that they haven't come up with a solution to the problem! I told him, and also this forum, that we love the motor home except for this issue. Would we buy another Winnebago product? Yes. Would we buy another motor home with a full wall slide? No way! We were full time til one year ago. Had Progressive insurance and they were always pretty good til now. We had something break out our skylight and when turning in a claim they told us they don’t even have an adjuster in Yuma. Have to wait for them to come down from Phoenix. We could tell from our conversation that it would be several weeks so we just did it ourselves. Anyway we would like to change insurance and maybe find someone who had actual adjusters in yuma. Any ideas?2.4KViews0likes9CommentsTV UPGRADE QUESTIONS
I am a newbie. Purchased a 2007 Mandalay 40H earlier this year. My question is, all my TVs are dated and don't have any of the new technology of newer TVs. Want to upgrade, but want to know if you can buy regular smart TVs that you buy for your house that run on 110 volt or do I need to buy the ones that are specifically for RVs that run on 12/24 volt DC? There is a significant difference in pricing between the 2. I can get a 40" smart TV that works on 110volt for $150 but the 12/24volt DC TVs of the same size are in the $400 range. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.139Views1like11Comments2007 Thor Mandalay 40H power step stop working
Hello all, I have a 2007 Thor Mandalay 40H. Saturday I was putting some things in the coach for an upcoming trip. The power step worked as it should, no issues. Went back to the coach on Monday, opened the door, and the step failed to come out. Has anyone experienced this problem and what could be the possible issue and solution? We have a trip planned Labor day weekend so All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!Solved76Views1like4Comments1972 Revcon 250
I recently purchased a 1972 Revcon 250 and have quickly realized how tough it's going to be to do a complete remodel of this rare beast. Currently I'm searching for new tires... the stock Revcon came with (5) 10-16.5 tires - including spare. For some odd reason the one I bought has two 9.5-16.5 and two 12.5-16.5 on the rear. I'm able to mount some 9.5-16.5 transforce's on three wheels, but the two rear wheels are wider and no tire is made to fit a 12.5-6.5 wheel. Any recommendations on the two rear wheels? Or does anyone know where I can possibly find two wheels that came with the stock 72 Revcon 250? (And some spare lug nuts, considering the rarity of those as well.) ... Everything/everybody leads me Marty Moore's in San Diego, but the phone number is no longer in service and I live too far to check it out myself. Thanks in advance! Have a great weekend. - Jacob11KViews0likes20CommentsFleetwood Storm ride
Traded in my winnebago view for a 2015 Fleetwood storm. Despite some opinions, we love the Storm 30 L floor plan and living arrangements. All systems are operating without a hitch. However, we don't like the ride. It seems too stiff and we feel every little glitch in the road. Because the highway system in the US is, in my opinion, a national disgrace, a softer more manageable ride would be a big help. We have taken three long trips and sway , big rigs etc. are not a major concern but road bumps are. Can anybody recommend shock upgrades or some system changes that can help. Would appreciate any responses. As with everybody, $$$, figures into the solution. Thanks in advance. John McDonough3.5KViews0likes13Comments
