Dometic DMC4101 Problem
I have the above 12V fridge and the evaporator freezer fan stopped working. Blue blinking light in fridge compartment. From my searches I have found that this is either a fan failure (4453000635) or the Control bd failure (4453000636). No one has this fan in stock and I have been able to locate a Control Board. (Have tried like motors to no avail.) I have sent Dometic a message several weeks ago and have not heard back from them. I have had some minor problems before with this unit but have been able to address them. The company does NOT support their products by having parts available. I am almost at the point of chucking this 2 yr. old fridge and getting a Residential. Two points: 1. Do not purchase this product and 2, does anyone have luck with a Residental Fridge.....10 cu. Model and make please. I am a full timer, basically hooked up to shore power at my site most of the time. It is a good thing this did not happen on the road. I personally, will never buy another Dometic product other than the toilet I have which works well. (no joke intended)17Views0likes1CommentFifth Wheel Hitch Types (air/flexible/...)
Looking to tow a very heavy 5th wheel trailer (with an F-550 or such). I've seen 5th wheel hitches that mount flat, hitches that articulate, hitches that have air bags, etc..) I can imagine that a flat hitch on the truck can flex the heck out of the trailer - so it seems like I want one with air or at least some articulation points in it, but it's difficult to find in 25k lbs or more. How important are these features, particularly considering that I need to drive over some dirt roads (that's the reason the trailer is so heavy - I got a custom trailer with a massive frame so I don't have to worry about things like frame flex).13Views0likes0CommentsInsight re: purchase
Hello, seeking insight: we are considering an opportunity to purchase an "older" 5th wheel - approx 13-14 yrs old. Not used for over the road travel, rather a seasonal site. Our intended use would be similar in same location. Seeing lifespan estimates about 5th wheels and trailers in general online, feeling a bit nervous about a big investment ($18k), but it does on the whole seems clean, very well kept and maintained, and like it is a decent deal vs what we are seeing for the range on newer models. Was hoping for #1: any considerations and thoughts about buying a used model in this age bracket - does it matter if it hasn't been on the road (surely tires are shot just from sitting). Amd #2: Would also appreciate specific things to look at and watch out for when considering purchase and going to look it over in person. Thanks in advance!85Views0likes7CommentsBad tail light wiring
Hi All - I have a problem with the left tail light on my new to me 2002 Jayco Qwest. The tail light itself works, but the turn signal, brake, and flasher do not. Everything works correctly on the right side. I assumed the problem was a bad bulb, but it turns out I’m only getting about 2 volts to the wire that powers the turn break and flashers. I’ve reached in and pulled out that wire as far as I can and from what I can see there are no bad connectors there. Anyone have any thoughts as to how I can get a new wire routed to that light. I don’t see any access inside or from the bottom. Just FYI , the wire scheme is as follows: Right light (works) Tail light - Green Turn, brake, Flash - Brown Left light (only tail light works) Tail light - Green Turn, brake, Flash - Red (only 2 volts). Thanks, Any help appreciated.Solved114Views0likes5CommentsElectrical Outlet issues

Hello, I’m wondering if there is an estimated percentage increase in fully loaded tongue weight of a fifth wheel trailer when appropriately loaded to capacity, versus the factory listed dry tongue weight? for example, the trailer I’m looking at purchasing has a listed dry tongue, weight of 1930 pounds. The maximum trailer gross vehicle weight is 12,000 pounds. The trailers carrying capacity for cargo fluids, etc. is 3239 pounds. I’m trying to make sure the truck I would choose for fifth wheel can accommodate the fully loaded tongue weight. Is there a way to estimate the increase in tongue weight when the trailer is fully loaded to get a reasonable approximation? Some good technical input would be appreciated. This Northwoods Foxmountain Slide Out design just can't be right. The manufacturer wouldn't fix it and sent me to a dealer. Bish RV (dealer) said it was designed this way and they wouldn't fix it. The top comes in first and then the bottom will come in causing the upper trim to bend. Can't find any schematics. Need someone familiar with this.202Views0likes2CommentsHave TTs gotten any better?
My husband and I full timed for 5 years in a 34' Cougar and loved it. When we finally planted, we tried a TT with sway bars for all of about 2-3 trips and hated it. We're now looking at a Arctic Fox 29-5K fifth wheel for more elbow room. Before we take the plunge, has anything improved in travel trailer towing?973Views1like9Commentsautomatic leveling on a 2021 Artic Fox Grande Ronde
The automatic leveling warning on the display on the above mentioned 5th Wheel won't quit beeping. It keeps telling me "Error - LF Jack" We don't see anything wrong with the left jack! The system tells us to "manually retract all jacks or hold retract button to Auto retract. Tried that with no results. We bought this 5th wheel from Camping World in Ft. Worth, TX. It was barely used;; however, there was no manual. That drives me crazy and I can't get any information without taking it in and paying someone to look at it. Anyone out there know what I'm talking about !411Views0likes2CommentsColeman Mach HP going to Gas Override
