Dumping in Nova Scotia in winter

RV dump stations and sanidump stations web site might show some that are open all year.

The Allstays app also lists campgrounds and dump stations plus months they are open so you might find something there.

What about marinas and ports looking for a dump station. Obviously no point if they are iced in but ...

When I took my trip, I was not charged. But consider I am one human & pets. Pets are plastic bag pick up.

My dear fellow Canuck. You think NS has bad weather, why don't you go to Sudbury and North. Maybe Labrador, occasionally Corner Brook (having lived and worked from Sudbury to Hornepayne for 5 years and the Corner Brook area for 24.5 years). Those winters are far more "interesting" than NS or PEI or southern NB. Northern NB is more like QCity.

So, go find out what winter really IS!!! Oh yes, one winter St. Anthony, NL had a Friday afternoon snowstorm. They took the snowblowers up on the roofs to START cleaning up. & brought the kids home from school via snowmobiles on MONDAY. Write St. Anthony for photos.

Really? I see that you are at your usual cynical best. Define worst........ Is your opinion based on a visit or an extended stay? I was born and raised in Nova Scotia, and have spent significant periods of time in the Prairies, BC, and the Yukon. As well, I have travelled this country from coast to coast six times in all seasons. In my opinion, the weather in Canada is as diverse as the geography of the country, and to say that one is the "worst" is narrow minded.

Sorry, OP. To your question, try your local Irving truck stop. As I recall, many have free dumps if you buy fuel there at the same time.

Obviously if you want to talk in absolute terms "worst" would mean winter conditions in the Antarctic but obviously I'm using the term as meaning just plain awful winter weather. If the OP's truck is anything like some other European Expedition trucks that I've seen, your puny winter weather will be just a minor annoyance limited to just worrying about whether the pavement outside is a bit icy. Trouble is, regardless of the excellence of the vehicle's wintering capabilities, the time will come when that nicely heated black and grey tank needs emptying. Then it may come down to the sort of dilemma faced when travelling in south america - is it reasonable to dump the tank in thick brush miles from the nearest house - or in this case, into a snowbank deep in the forest.
Needs must eh?
