Based on RV Park Reviews, I don't find any good campgrounds traveling south on I-77 in NC going toward SC. CGs not level & bathhouses dirty.
I'll second the Mayberry Campground recommendation. We always stop there if in the area. One of our favorites but if bathrooms are important to you the ones at Mayberry do leave much to be desired.

It's just a short way down I74 from I77 near Mt Airy.
- VE3ESNExplorerSince the OP mentioned Walmart, we have used the Mt. Airy Walmart with no problems. It's not too far from I-77.
- Chuck_thehammerExplorerI am also looking for this information.. North Carolina.
I am departing from Ohio the end of November...

Thank You.
p.s. I do not own a smart phone.... a flip phone. - ken56ExplorerDownload the RVparky app for your phone. I find it to be very useful for finding RV parks on our route. Gives you alot of other useful information like locations of Walmarts, gas stations, Cracker barrels. I also use the Good Sam trip routing to research CG's on our route too. You might want to check out Mt. Airy NC, aka Mayberry. Pleasant walk back in time.
- Beavis01350ExplorerWe have stayed in Whytheville VA KOA many times. Easy in, easy out nice people, right off freeway, fuel stations right there, smooth and easy.
- ChooChooMan74ExplorerCheck Carowinds. Even though the park isn't open daily, I believe the campground is open year round. Went there this summer. Not too bad. Only complaint, new shower house had no AC.
- TerryallanExplorer IITry Statesville KOA
- midnightsadieExplorer IImust be a cracker barrel along there,
