Along the Alaska Highway, a few originals still exist in private collections and museums, and some "Historic Mile 000" posts were installed for the 1992 anniversary (they look nothing like the originals). The standards are, of course, kilometers in BC (where they're 5 km apart) and the Yukon (2 km apart), and miles in Alaska. Fuel costs less in major centres - the only exception to that norm that I know of is Contact Creek, east of Watson Lake. Larger centres where you have no choice but to fill up sometimes gouge as the norm - ie Fort Nelson, and usually Watson Lake.
