Newfoundland Moose Trip

We crossed and returned on a Newfoundland trip just yesterday. Firearms into Canada and firearms with a moose back home to the USA. We spent a week in the bush and looked it. Only the paperwork was checked, neither side even looked at the guns for a serial number check. The paperwork was form filled and printed, thus neat, complete and accurate. The moose export permit was hand written.

The only border concern was fruits and veggies, on both sides. Thanks to advice on this forum, we had none. Nobody cared about the moose.

A complete nothing burger at the border. Smooth, professional and fast. We were pleasantly surprised.
  • East coast people aren't as friendly as Midwest

    You're welcome! :B

Along with moose burger, sausage, roast, mincemeat, and of coarse, steak.

Crowe, you made my mouth water early this AM.

  • It sounds like everyone was happy, except the moose. :(
  • When we crossed into Maine this summer from New Brunswick, they didn't seem interested in anything except if we had fruits and vegetables. We had already read the website, and had eaten all our food that wasn't allowed. They came on board, opened the fridge, and a few drawers, and that was it. Crossing back into Canada was even less. We were stopped for less than a minute. Other than checking the passports, they didn't look at anything. We went to NFLD this summer. We only saw two moose in three weeks of being on the island. Last time we were there we only saw one. I don't know where they hide all these moose they are always talking about. There is hardly a tree big enough to hide a moose behind in half the province. Im glad we didn't see any while driving. NFLD is a spectacular place to visit. I wouldn't want to be there in the winter.
