Traveling from Houston to Las Vegas

Here's a thread on I-10 closures due to ice and fog right now:

The illegals don't want you and I know they are around so they very rarely interact with us. I8 Tucson to San Diego has a very heavy Border Patrol presence and even there we've never had any concern for ourselves.

Driving on I-10 next week. My only concern is the potential for icy roads. I picked I-10 because it is the most southern route. Now I have learned that even it freezes in west Texas.

Today, and much of the next few days, freezing weather, freezing fog and freezing rain will be an issue.

I've spend 6 months below I-10 in west Texas in 2014 - and the news stories and worries about border crossings are a bunch of political BS.

It's safe - safer than a lot of Houston.

I10 is perfectly safe from border jumpers and is in very good shape. You are in more harms way from the speed racers.
Boring drive though.
