They just announced that on July 18, Wal Mart Canada will phase in non acceptance of Visa!
Guess they were squabbling about the merchant fee.

Actually that's not true. I have swiped my chipped cc a couple of times on a remote terminal when there was a transmission error. The terminal does ask you, however, to approve the fact that you are swiping.
