What racism? I didn't see or hear anything like that at all. :h I will say I saw no reason for the post as it has been beat to death and had NOTHING to do with camping or camp grounds.
The blatant racism in post #1 makes me sick. I would ping a mod, but the rest of the conversation is more intelligent and I don't want to get in the way of that. I just had to say something, though. - moishehExplorerTerquila: if you look like a troll......... Why would you post this story????

Traveling in foreign countries is about the same risks of many of the US places you go to.
BUT, in the states at least you can carry and protect yourself. not in many foreign countries such as mexico, they throw you in jail if you have a weapon let alone use it for protection.
Patially true. In Mexico permanent residents and nationals can have guns for hunting and also a weapon at home for self defense. Mexican law. You apply for a permit, pay the fee, SEDENA (military) checks the weapon and its origin, you prove you´ve taken a course.
This is hunting season and people around here have their guns ready and they´re going. - NaioExplorer IIThe blatant racism in post #1 makes me sick. - rexlionExplorerThere are plenty of US cities I would not want to camp in or near for safety reasons, too. North Tulsa, for instance. Detroit. Baltimore.

Not in all 50 states and not in all municipalities of some of the states that do permit a person to "carry". You can be thrown in jail just as fast in the states if you do not know the laws.

I suppose, but your travel world gets considerably smaller if you rule out countries where you are allowed to carry a gun as a foreigner. I can't think of any off hand. Syria maybe? Not sure.
A lot of foreigners travel to the US for vacation. None of them are allowed to carry as well.
Just sayin. - old_guyExplorerTraveling in foreign countries is about the same risks of many of the US places you go to.

You just have to watch things that develop around you.
Even places where you would never suspect this like maybe SOUTH BLVD going around Montgomery ALA... It may have gotten better by now but only a few years back this area of town was like a war zone... You know you are in the wrong place when the local police stops you to tell you would be better off going to the other side of town... Then you start looking around and find all of the grand old nite clubs and restaurants and other nite-life things of the 80s and 90s are all boarded up and abandoned.
The local police told us this is NOT the place to be after dark...
Roy Ken - TequilaExplorerStrange, they have arrested one of the dead men who killed each other. He came back to life and hid the 6 other bodies in a pond. Zombies live.
Seriously that is not what the survior says: Quote
A Texas woman told police she hid as a man who earlier had drinks with her family at a campsite shot four of her relatives in the woods then killed her husband and daughter in a camper..
