- NaioExplorer IIThanks for the informative list, Desert Captain!
- 2gypsies1Explorer IIII just looked up a couple choices at Lost Dutchman State Park, Apache Jct. - an absolutely fabulous park (we volunteered there). In December my choices with awesome views were listed as $15 without hookups and $25 with 50A. Doesn't seem too high, in my opinion compared to RV parks with no views except for another RV.
- toedtoesExplorer IIIFor me, I see this as everything else in life:
You can't afford to eat Filet Mignon every night - so you save that splurge for important moments and eat hamburger and chicken the rest of the time.
You can't afford to go to the movies every night - so you go to the movies once a month and watch TV the rest of the time.
You can't afford the state parks every trip - so you save the state parks for those important trips and do BLM and NF campgrounds the rest of the time.
You don't have to give up the state parks - you just have to figure how to fit them in your budget. - downtheroadExplorerGive the info that Desert Captain posted, the $30 - $33 per in not bad at all.

Wow! Doesn't look like I will be able to stay in State Parks in Arizona. At $30-$33 per night with no discounts available, I'll have to look elsewhere.
Guess I'll have to stay in BLM and NF areas!
What is included - what type of site for that per night charge?
Bare bones or full hook-up???
Most of the Arizona State Parks offer water and electric and some even have full hook ups. We were at Buckskin Mountain SP last week and it was $30 for W&E, $33 for FHU's. This for a gorgeous park right on the Colorado River, lots of huge shade trees, grass and nice white sand beaches along the river.
Patagonia Lake, Roper Lake and Lost Dutchman are three more of our favorites and you usually have the option of non electric sites for around $17 with all of them having free dump stations.
Compared to much of the rest of the country Arizona is a bargain and the best part is we can use the parks year round... we just select the altitude that coincides with the weather.
:B - HelimechExplorerState park near Williams AZ is $20 per site, no hookups and they charge an extra $15 to dump. The KOA down the road is only $5 more with all hookups.

You quoted the most expensive at the Colorado River. - Yes, you need a discover pass if you have a toad. Once you unhook, you have to have one.
