Cabin camping at Bear Den CG in Spruce Pine NC Nov 28th

This will be our first visit to this CG. I've read mixed reviews, but to be honest, we really don't have many options the day after Thanksgiving. We wanted to head to the NC mountains and most are closed. We sold our TT in March, so this will feel really good to at least be at a CG again. We're already really wanting another TT, I expect we'll pay Tom Johnson in Marion a shopping visit. Not sure when we'll buy another one as we have one in high school marching band and the other in Pop Warner football.
Anywho, this cabin actually has a indoor jacuzzi and appears pretty nice. It's also creekside and right off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Looking forward to wifey time and scoping out the area and enjoying local dining.

  • Just recently stayed there in our tt. We had a nice stay but like the reviews mention it is steep getting in and out but was manageable. Did not see inside any of the cabins but they appeared nice. There was a family in our loop that rented a cabin and liked it. We had a nice stay and enjoyed the CG. Reminded us of the CG’s we used to tent camp in years ago. Enjoy your stay.
  • We stayed there two years ago in a 37' fifth wheel. The reviews are correct, very nice people, big hill, and very tight roads. We were advised to go the opposite way on one-way internal roads to make it to the site. We did and it worked. We looked at the route had we gone the "right" way we would not have made it.
We also recently worked with Tom Johnson's at their Concord location. Again nice people and a good deal.
    Have a great trip.
