Camping in Berlin Ohio

Hs anyone ever stayed in Scenic Hill RV Park in Berlin Ohio. We are thinking about going to Amish Country in Ohio. Found this park on the net, they didn't list any other campgrounds , have not checked travel book yet. Your reply would be helpful.
  • Scenic Hills. Free firewood. Visit Boyd and Wurthmans for a hot Roast Beef sandwich in Berlin. Amish Auction in Mt.Hope Wednesday, Lehmans in Mt Hope. Winesburg Meats. Warthers Museum in Dover. Glenmont Tavern in Glenmont to see where my grandpap used to play Scribbage in the Depression. Keim Lumber in Charm. Some great graveyards with Revolutionary and Civil War vets buried in them.
  • We have stayed there as well and will go back. Like others have said its a great location.
  • We have stayed there a couple times. We love it. Nice, quiet, etc. It's owned/run by a Mennonite couple. Very nice. It is no frills. . . FHU sites, no laundry or showers. But that doesn't bother us. It's well kept and a great location for the area. We have stayed at both the upper part and lower. Not really a bad site. Plenty of room.

  • We have been to Scenic Hills. It is just across the street from Troyer's Market and down the hill. If you go there you might want to get a spot in the bottom rather than on the top side. Topside is mostly gravel. They have full hookups. There is a brand new one on the west side of Berlin (out 39) but we have not been there. If you have not ever been to Holmes County Amish area there is a lot to see just driving around. YOu might take in Lehman's Hardware in Kidron. They have a big flea market and auction on Thursdays. Boyd and Wurthman's restaurant in Berlin is good. Miller's in Mt. Hope is great for Broasted Chicken. Berlin has Heini's Cheese Factory and then east on 39 in Walnut Creek is Walnut Creek Cheese and Bulk Food.
Charm is also a nice small town to visit. Just west out of Charm is Miller's Bakery a must stop place. On farther is Hershberger's which also has bakedgoods, cheese, and another building with things to purchase along with some animals including goats that walk around on the roof. All around a fun area. We go there 3-4 times a year.

    Good Luck and Happy Camping.
  • The COE has a nice campground on lake Berlin. You might like it.

And they take the geezer card. If your interested in Amish country, Punderson is closer to activities.

My wife just informed me there is another Berlin in Ohio. The area I referenced is west of Youngstown and Punderson in north west of Youngstown near Middlefield which is heavy Amish country. Look out for the horse and buggy.
