Camping neighbor destroying trees?

I set up in a site once and over near the fire ring was a large pile of freshly cut branches. the chuckleheads who had been here ahead of me had chopped up a number of the small trees surrounding the site and then discovered that green branches don't burn well. I called the Ranger over went he came through the CG and showed him what I'd found.

I did not want to be blamed for the damage and wasn't about to burn the green wood. He said he knew who they were and would take the appropriate action. We dumped the branches into the nearest dumpster.
