Jellystone Park, Frankenmuth, MI

It's clean, so there's that. Incredibly narrow sites, neighbors literally an arm's length away. And: booked a full hookup site. Called back twice to reconfirm, last time two days before arrival. Get to the CG, check in, reconfirm and yes, we have full hookups. The map says the site is a full hookup site. Except, as you've guessed by now, it isn't. What it is is a grass slope with plenty of ants, WIFI which never worked and, of course, no sewer hookup. Go back to registration to complain. Am told I couldn't have called to reconfirm when I did because they were turning people away at that time. So I'm a liar. Their parting words to me: "We're sorry for your misunderstanding." As if it was my misunderstanding. Never again.
  • Post this to RV Park Reviews. It would be helpful for other future campers thinking about staying here.
  • We used to live about 15 miles from Frankenmuth and we rarely went there. You obviously weren't familiar with the Frankenmuth attitude. Its Michigans most visited tourist attraction and they really don't care if you are satisfied or not because there is someone else right behind you ready to open their wallet for them so they really don't need your business......and any complaints will not affect the general attendance so........
  • This post does not make sense in todays world especially on Memorial Day Weekend every body takes deposits

This is from their website -

    Reservations

Please make your reservations by calling 989-652-6668 or online at www.frankenmuthjellystone.com. One night’s deposit is required with each reservation. This can be done with a MasterCard, Visa, or by check. Additional deposit fees may apply to holidays or special event weekends. Reservations are suggested for all weekends, holidays, festivals and special events.
  • Though it sounds like the park probably screwed up, I can tell you from experience that people often hear what they want to hear, not what they are told. I can't begin to count the number of people who make reservations online and then arrive to tell us they specifically requested this or that. We save all the online requests, so we pull up their request and, lo and behold, none of those special requests are anywhere to be found.
And it is almost a daily occurrence that someone will drive up saying they have reservations and after some research we find those reservations are at another park. Sometimes they are at a park close by and sometimes they aren't. often the guest has a copy of the reservation in hand, yet can't quite comprehend why we won't honor a reservation made at another park.
  • We've been there twice. We learned after our first visit to get the upgraded FHU site, it was nice and wide.
The indoor pool was a nice feature for a fall campout and it's a great location if you want to visit Frankenmuth but we stopped going after two visits. I guess we're just done with Frankenmuth in general. I don't see the appeal of the city in returning.
  • The sites at the Jellystone Park Are very close together you cannot put your awning out in lots of times you have a very tough time getting your slide out-- out

However compared to the other camp ground which is kind of by Birch Run ----I forgot the name of it something Valley or whatever------- the Jellystone Park is a walk in the park / picnic compared to the other one the one that's nearer to the shopping Birch Run Outlet Stores and such !!!!!!!!

Don't even bother going there I took a rally there about 4--- 5 years ago they treated us totally rude--- they were really A-Holes---even though the place was almost empty!!!

I would never ever go back there again ----never ---they didn't care
  • Sorry for your experience. Being from Michigan I can tell you there are plenty of other places to go, see and enjoy. Personally I drive by there often on my way north and have not felt the need to stop there for chicken or anything else. You have to love tourist raps to enjoy.
Head for a state park for good full sites and head for the UP for rustic and beautiful places to see. Far less people far more history and untouched places.
