OCEAN LAKES SET TO BUILD BIG ADDITION TO WATER PARK.

:) The campsites that will be lost are the smaller ones. It is interesting for my curiosity that the park is coming very close to the Jackson's and the preacher's homes. Wonder if they are part of the changes.
:@ Just guessing but with the Jackson's Estates being in probate & the Daughters taking over has a lot to do with the improvements being slower or if they just want to get it right.

Most of the newer homes there are two story on stilt's. I guess that is the current building code as you do not see any new homes being built on the ground......... I still can't see building a 100-200 thousand dollar home & not owning the land (If you don't pay the annual fees gues you don't own the home anymore)........... I haven't seen any 3 story homes (not counting the space underneath. Might be a couple.

No. I posted about the size of the sites and OL`s taking away from the sites and it got deleted. I was using your post as an example. nothing against you! just trying to figure things out here, even after 11 years I still cant figure it out! LOL

Right along that road that come out from the hamburger stand? Yeah. Lots of multi story homes there.

Wow Ocean lakes is going to be down to 850 campsites & 2500 full time homes Say it isn't so :) The water park looks cool will be fun to watch it go up The grandson will love it!!!!!

it was OL....there were 3 more 3 story (not counting the ground floor parking) going up....you could hand a burger to your neighbor thru the window

Yeah, we saw those sites and you can probably see them in our drive through video...were not impressed with those sites...the parkign pad was crush and run type material. The patio was pavers (which was fine). I guess the crush and run was better than a lot of the sites we saw. Many had deep ruts in from the heavy rains.

Highrise condo community? Are you sure you were at Ocean Lakes? There are homes and some mobile homes there, but it's the same at Lakewood (lakewood just has less and many at OL are much nicer). Some of the homes may be 3 stories high, but they are not high rise. And they are at the entrance and over on the side. I noticed in January that Lakewood is starting to allow some permanents in the middle of the camping area...

According to Lakewood's website there is no extra fee for the waterpark or any other amenties. At one time the wristband was as wbwood stated but not anymore. But now the wristbands are used to indicate you are a guest at the campground. There is a fee if you need to have the wristband reissued should you misplace yours. As for the $88.00 sites, there are the ones on the end of each road that has pavers, shrubbery and a fire ring.

we were just at Lakewood for a couple weeks....needs some work but still nice. Wife went over to OL for the county quilt fest....I would not go there camping....from when we were there last it has turned into a highrise jammed mobile home/condo community.
