recomendations for Colorado Springs

We went with Colorado Heights Camping Resort. We are in Yellowstone and the Tetons for a week and wanted something with a pool and other amenities. This seems to be the best alternative!

Made reservations for Cheyenne Mt within 12 hours of reservation window opening for October & had to take 3rd site choice. Sheesh! October?? Didn't expect that.

I would avoid Garden of the Gods RV Park. Below is my review on RV Park Review from April of last year.

We have been coming here for about ten years and have had better visits. I feel like this park is no longer what it was prior to RVC Outdoors. Our site was too off level to level the coach and so was our neighbors. The sites are also too close. We had a reservation and I was in disbelief where they put us with a 43' motorhome. We had a pull thru (laugh) that was long enough for the coach only so the car was parked elsewhere. Even that was worse than it sounds as there isn't a square inch in the whole GC that isn't claimed by someone. Be very careful driving a larger motorhome as the place is loaded with campers taking up needed aisle space with their vehicles. Wifi AND cable was a joke at least at our site. If we were longer than two nights I would have complained. I feel like the rate is also an issue. $70 for an off level, gravel/dirt site, packed in, is too high. But obviously they have no problem filling the CG so others must feel differently. We will certainly return to Colorado Springs but we are done with this CG. We camped at Garden of the Gods Campground in a Motorhome.

I have been there many times and never saw any evidence of a pool.

You say they have a pool, yet I don't see one on their website! Is that something new or did I miss it?

Great park with amazing views. Some of the sites in the first tier have steep entrance ramps. You're fine once you're in if you don't bottom out. Also great trails but if your hiking partner has 4 legs they aren't allowed on the trails.

Another vote for Pikes Peak RV Park. Yes, spaces are a bit tight. But it has always been very well cared for. Usually nice and quiet. And an easy walk to downtown Manitou for lunch, etc.

Chances of getting a spot at Cheyenne Mountain SP, particularly over a weekend would likely be slim to none. May possibly be able to get a spot at Mueller SP, but it is also popular, though not as much as Cheyenne Mountain.

Agree with the comment that, for a city that size with tourism a major player, there aren't better choices. In Manitou Springs, Pikes Peak RV Park gets good reviews. I checked it out a few years ago, seemed nice, but a bit tight. Facilities seemed to be really good. There's also a KOA south of town in Fountain that seems to be better than most. There's also Golden Eagle, way out of town that gets mixed reviews, but folks I've talked to seemed to like it. Other than that, can't recommend much down that way.
