RV Parks in the area of Sun Valley ID

Going to Twin Falls ID in July for a few days camping than heading up to Sun Valley ID, cant find much for RV parks in that area, does anyone know any south of that area than I can just drive up in my Jeep for a day, looking for a nice park, can be around craters of the moon area if need be.
  • We just stayed at Valley Creek Lodge RV parking in Stanley….has limited number of sites, full hook ups and super view of the Saw Tooth mountains then went to nice camp grounds toward Challis for boon docking……breath taking scenery!
  • We've stayed at a forest service campground just north of Sun Valley. Our favorite place to stay is in the Stanley area. Many campgrounds there.
  • There is a small park in Picabo - south of Sun Valley, right on US 20. Looks nice, but haven't stayed there. We use FS campgrounds when we stay in the Sawtooths...
  • The Meadows Rv Park is a few miles south of Ketchum/Sun Valley and is the only RV park in the area. It is basic and average, but its close and on the bike path to SV.

If you can live without hookups there are campgrounds and plenty of scenic dispersed camping opportunities.
  • Arco KOA is pretty nice - trees are kind of mid-size so there is some shade but not a ton. Nothing really special about the CG but decent enough. Off the main road so quieter than most.

No idea about Sun Valley. I think there may be a CG tucked in the valley somewhere, between Hailey, Ketchum & SV, but didn't see one (day tripped there a couple years ago). Did you check rvparkreviews for any?
  • There are a couple of RV parks in Arco, one of which is a KOA. However, I can't tell you anything about them. We stayed in the campground at the Craters when we came through just before Memorial Day. No hookups there, so if it is hot (and it very well could be that time of year), you would probably be better off checking out the others.

There is also the option of going on up to Stanley and trying to find an open campsite there. It will be cooler up in the mountains, but there is a section of steep winding road between Stanley and Sun Valley.

Have a great time. That area (Challis) was our home for 20 years.
