Below are a couple more pictures showing it strapped to the ladder. My plan is to buy a blue strap for better esthetics. LOL!

I would love to put the tote in the back of the truck like "SoundGuy" would, but unfortunately the bed of my truck has a diesel transfer tank, 4 large bikes, tools and anything thats small enough that I don't want to put inside the RV. So I can't worry about esthetics. I have to put the dang thing on the back of the trailer.

For those concerned about it falling off during travel, rest assured, it's also strapped to the ladder and secured with a rope from the pulley at the top of the ladder.

You are correct and I am familiar with the axle issue. I'm not sure if you can see in the picture, but if the axle came out of the track, I don't see any way of it falling off. But, for added safety I also tie a rope to it. Thanks for the heads up.

Nowhere did I suggest putting a tote tank inside the rig. :R If I used one I'd transport it in the back of the truck ... but I don't have one and instead use a set of 7 gal Aquatainers which travel in the back of the truck, out of sight / out of mind, and are labeled for collecting waste water. K.I.S.S. :B

I never thought a blue boy would ever look so good mounted in a tidy fashion back there. Looks great to me. Another thing we do is combine gray and black tanks together by using a third gate valve connected to the sewer termination...then just keep both the other valves open. That should keep your dumping to a minimum.

While I agree the look is not going to win any beauty contest, I would certainly rather place that tote on the outside of my vehicle that on the inside....so looks aside, the above solution for those who carry a tote seems fairly reasonable. I have a tote, but struggle all the time on where to put it when traveling...the pictured solution is as valid as any other I've seen. IMHO

Be aware if you use this in winter that PVC pipe becomes rather brittle in cold temperatures, and when it breaks it tends to fail completely. An interesting experiment (that I've read about, not tried myself) is to put a small piece in the freezer overnight and then drop it on a hard floor. I would suggest long pants and shoes if you try this.

This is related to the reasons why one should never use PVC pipe for compressed air: not because it isn't generally strong enough (it is), but because if it fails it will break into many tiny sharp shards that will be propelled away at pretty high speeds. Water or other liquids are different since they are incompressible; once the pressure is relieved even slightly, they don't push the bits of plastic out more and so they don't shoot out with anywhere near the speed.

With no intent of being excessively negative I'd personally have a couple of concerns - 1) security, as in is there any chance at all this tote could fall off during travel and 2) the OP has a really sharp looking trailer but hanging a brightly coloured blue tote tank off the rear of a tan coloured trailer like this IMO really spoils the esthetics. :( To each his / her own but it's not a solution that would work for me. ;)

Maybe.....think he would also have a problem with the OEM installed ladder rail in front of it?

Be careful with that model of Barker tote. Look at how the axle is attached. It is pressfit into a slot and held with 4 tabs molded into the edge of the slot.

The axle has been know to pop out of the slot , not when hauling the honey but when hauling the empty tote due to bumps in the road. Ours has popped out a bunch of times when its bungeed to a flat equipment platform.

Great job, did a similar build a few years ago, never thought to post for anyone else to use. your design is much simpler than mine, going to redo to match yours.
