- alboyExplorerIm always on the GM Forum, you see very few if any issues with the newer trucks CP4 included.I tend to put a lot of miles on around town lately and have had no regen issues.

Are Ram trucks still using the CP-3 injector pumps or have they switched to the CP-4? If the CP-4 pump blows it is like a grenade going off in your fuel system with metal going everywhere. Aprox cost to repair is 15K. Don't sweat the wiring harness.Good luck with whatever you have.
The Ram 2500+ Cummins powered trucks still use the CP-3! A very good reason to choose it over a VW TDI, Ford Super and Duramax. However the RAM 1500 Italian V-6 diesel has the CP-4.
Chris - huron52ExplorerIf I would have been able to buy new I may have bought a GM but buying used and wanting a stick I looked only for a Dodge. Yes because of the motor. Pre 6.7 version as well. The truck side has been a little bit of a problem some times. nothing major.

Rare to here a ram owner telling it like is.
Most do, it's just that there is not much bad to tell. - sk734ExplorerAre Ram trucks still using the CP-3 injector pumps or have they switched to the CP-4? - KreaseExplorerFrom what I hear, with all newer diesel engines with all the emissions equipment, if you don't work the engine, you're going to have issues with it. They're not made for running around town empty.
With that being said, I have 145k miles on my 2011 and have not had any engine/emissions/transmission problems. But I've also had 75% of my miles loaded between 14k-32k lbs. - JASPERJRExplorerdealer put an overlay on the wiring harness for the 02 sensor, been fine ever since...thank goodness.... love the truck.. tows the 35 ft. fithwheel like a wagon....
- NC_HaulerExplorer..Never owned a Dodge/Ram truck until June of 2010, (all Chevy's from 1975 thru 2010 when it came to a truck)....The 2010 Ram I owned was a 3500 DRW/CC/LB/4X4 with 4:10 and 68RFE tranny in Laramie trim. Towed my 16,000# (loaded) 5er all through the mountains of WV, TN, NC, SC and VA and never had the first problem, zip, nil nada, and though I only had it for a little over a year and a half, it was a great truck and I'm still a Ram owner:). Loved my Chevy's, won't knock them, but the Ram is also a great truck...But as far as the 2010 Ram went, it towed my 5er effortlessly, great truck and was my daily driver...thus the reason I'm still with Ram....never did deletes or added tuners, I liked my warranty and never had a reason to delete or add a tuner...same with truck in my sig.
